Following a GREAT enrollment period, we will be closing 300 DC registration this SUNDAY 2/3. This is the last time to get in and capture that new year rush of getting in shape.

You DO NOT have to be costuming 300 to get into this board, you simply have to have a Spartan's relentless attitude in getting in shape by this September. We will not be opening registration again until Summer.

Thank you everyone for your support !!

Come along man ! Six packs (why not 8 ?) welcomed !

Just how much effort is involved in this? I've started up again, but I don't know if I'm quite ready to put forth that much effort...

As with all workout regimens, what you come in is with what you come out with. Simply, if you're looking to get inspired or the board to supplement for a drive that's not within you, then this is probably not the place for you.

But, if you have the drive to get physically better in a set period of time, looking for structure, and want to do it in a community that is internally driven to do the same, then this board is for you.

Seriously though, your health and getting better is not a hobby. Our prinicple is that this is a part of your life and this board is simply a mechanism for checks and balances that aids to enable this part of your life.

I understand that, but you didn't answer my question :p What exactly do you normally do to achieve those results? I know what they did for the movie, and I don't exactly the place nor the equipment to be messing around with tractor tires...

aaaah, you're asking for specifics. I apologize for not answering you about that then.

We pretty much hail to two types of working out. One is more like a three day a week 20 minute cardio and three day a week lifting (less than an hour) regimen. But its what you do within these workouts that matters, for example, the cardio is within 20 minutes, but you have basically break it into four periods where you're nearly sprinting after each 5-4 minute segment. The workout portion is a regimen where you start at a lower weight and build to a max, then superset the last set with another lift to follow.

Then there's teh other method which is more or less circuit training but more home based with dumbells, pull up bars and such. That program is something that a lot of people have attested to but is a third party vendor that has brought great results to many.

After these two major workout, people also have their own regimens that they know as tried and true.

The board is just a great place to monitor your progress and have people hold you accountable. We all recognize the basic principle that EATING and EXERCISE are really the only tenets to get to your goal and the best part is, we'll call you on it if you're not fulfilling one for the other.

....oh we also make it mandatory to have a tractor tire in your house. jk.

Ok, thanks :thumbsup

Like I said, I just started up at the gym (Gold's), so if it's something I can accomplish while I'm there, I'm certainly interested. Although I've never really done the bulking-up aspect before; I've always been pretty much a cardio guy (ran cross-country for all of high school). Now my workout mostly has been about an hour on the treadmill (alternating between jogging and walking while I work my stamina back up), then some weight machines afterwards to work the upper-body.

But I think I shall join up tonight when I get home from work and go from there.

there is a PLETHORA of information on different regimens on the board. Check it out, post and learn, learn, learn. Its not as painful or as big of a mountain as you think. Gold's gym is awesome btw.

Registered and awaiting approval...

Argh, the wait to be able to post is killing me! :p

Seems like a good site you guys have there and I need motivation bad. After seeing the results you guys got last year, I figured signing up was a good idea.
