300 Persian Immortal

Lost count of the amount of times I smoothed it out, and then I would spot a mistake!!!

The outer mask has yet to have it's final smoothing, looks a little rough.
Couple of panel wipe washes will have it silky smooth.

I see, some cool stuff up there!!

They could show some more detail of their 300 work though, most are just screencaps

If only!!

Got my hands on a copy of the "300: Art of the Film" book, some good refs in there, partciularly the hands and feet sculpts. Although the pics are quite small.

Will be posting up a link to all the ref images I have found soon!

Good reference can be hard to find, and frustrating when working on a project.

Good to know you got some to work from. Keep posting YOUR pic's on how YOURS is developing, looking great so far!!!

Cheers

At last, I managed to get my hands on a Neca version (just for comparison) before I did any more work on this.

The Neca one, although quite good, lacks some details in areas!
The brow ridges are not as deep as they should be and the cheekbones are not as prominent either.
I found it too be too square also, think the face needs to be longer too.

Hope to post up some comparison pics in a few days.

Some comparison pics! Mine vs Neca, glad to see that they struggled with symmetry too!

As I said before, their mask looks too square to me and lacks the prominent cheekbones. I heard it mentioned before that it was cast from one of the originals, I find that difficult to believe the more I look at it.

I need to get this sculpt as smooth as possible, might involve making a cast, sanding it and then remoulding to get the super smooth finish needed. Otherwise the paintwork will show up any imperfections.
