So really needing about 1/4 scale allspark for my gun I started with a michaels picture cube.

Then printed up a photoshop tweeked pattern for the allspark designs, if anyones gonna do this I can send u the ones I made and sized for the cube.

Put the patterns inside

Started carving the general details with a dremel with this bit. Removed the patterns and used regular model glue to seal the cube. Then moved onto the lil knife that I ground down the tip to make cleaner more uniform grooves.

All carving done.

Base paint done.

Then some darker silver, black and gold rubbing and then finally used a 6B pencil to accent all the carvings. Took about 30 hours lol but the price was sweet.

Dude, that's so cool. Great job! I probably have a $3 allspark, too. But I just happened to pay $300 for it on the bay 7 years ago...:facepalm

I like the execution, but I would add one more step. Fill the entire inner void with resin. It will reinforce the fragile plastic, and help prevent cracks. It'll also add weight to it, which is usually a welcome effect.

Totally was gonna do that if I do a second build. This ones for my gun dis[lay and the bottom is actually opened for lighting. When I was holding it I totally thought it would be cool. Id probly fill it with lead, no joke just so when you pick it up it would be kinda weird its so heavy for the size.

Wouldn't hot lead melt the plastic?

Very clever and great you shared it as it's cheap.
I only wish they had Michael's here in Australia, it was my favorite store when visiting the US.

Would I be able to get the pattern? Or does anyone have it? really like to give it a go!
