Re: 232 despatch pod

Yeah thanks to you and Allan who did all the hard work :lol
Yeah I scored a T34 a while back for the AT-AT, but that's true I never posted the pics of what I did...

Re: 232 despatch pod

Nope, you would win J ! I wont receive my plastruct parts before 2 weeks, same with my 2 flak38 ! :D I have to check my kits first, Im not sure I need more flak38 after all !

Re: 232 despatch pod

And you are hiding a 223 version in the background Julien.....? :cool
Great to see all of these builds, look what you've started Lee. All great reference for me...:lol

Re: 232 despatch pod

The cone is off, I used what I had. I had to sand the body heavily after pulling off the rods that ran the length. Thanks J for the correct pics.

Re: 232 despatch pod

OMG it's a plague group build:lol:thumbsup
Great job guys looking forward to see who crosses the
finish line first!!!

Re: 232 despatch pod

there's always room for more. Come on and join in the fun. Working on the base at the moment. It's a nice diversion from the other studio scale models out there to build.

Yeah should be the Lotus MKIII rear, looks good though. I left the rods, they were fitted before the ref came available, i swapped out the domes too, went well though, glad the ID's i made are going to good use for you guys, no charge.

Re: 232 despatch pod

Much appriciated Lee.

I just could not justify buying the Lotus for only this project.

Re: 232 despatch pod

Dont worry George, I have the Lotus but I was too lazzy to find the sprue in all my garbage, I mean my shop :lol, so I used the first sprue with F1 rims I found !

I present you now my 223 pod. It's REL's kit, mastered by Ralphee.
All the greeblies casting I got with my kit have an issue, they were soft as chewing gum. Richard, as a professional, kindly proposed me to replace them but I refused, I had already in mind to use original kitparts, that was some time ago. And the pod slept on the shelf for many months.

Now it's time to finish this one as I'm also working on the 232.

Im using Rich's rotocast hull (I had some problem with it as one side was thin like paper and it crushed... I did my best to fix that ! The hull was in 6 pieces after the disaster. :cry)

Im not as crazy as Jason, I cut a 312B plate and cast it.

Of course, when I placed mu plastruct order, as always I forgot something... this time that's the tiny dishes which goes on top of the "T-shaped" 232 parts.

I used a chieftain part to detail the base of the truster.

I dont know if there ever was a cap built for the nose of this baby. So I dont know what to put as the flat nose is a bit annoying to watch.

So what is the skinny on this model? Were there more than one of these made? for soemthing that had that little screen time I would have thought that there was only one...???

Its still cool as all heck - just wondering semi-outloud through the keyboard...
