I wanted to post some reference pics for the cowl from The Batman. Link to 25 photos of a non-screen used prop.

I can't get a handle on the thread color on these cowls. Looks brown in these shots though it might be weathering/color balance. It looks white in others and grey/black in some pictures. Also looks a bit thicker than normal sewing thread, maybe embroidery thread? Anyone have any thoughts?

Some more of the Carl's Jr. promotion in the stores. Looks like the same set.

If it’s meant to look like a handsewn leather cowl, try looking for #5 waxed nylon thread.

Similarly thick thread (just unwaxed) for industrial sewing machines is #138 thread, or size FF in military terms.

I’ve used both for sewing LOTR and similar medieval projects, and you can get a very professional look even when handsewing.

Yes. If it’s one of these it was made by Blaidon Props.

Neat! Here's a post he made about them:

So there's only about 35 of these. Interesting that he made gauntlets for them, yet the sweepstakes cowls didn't seem to come with any. It looks like Andy Serkis did bring one of the Blaidon Props sets complete with the opposite gauntlet when he went on Good Morning Britain, though:

Their social media leads one to believe they had a hand in at least the suits at the pop-up exhibits. Based in the U.K.

His name—Lewis White—is in the credits of The Batman and he's worked on films in the past like the new Star Wars movies, Justice League, and The Flash, so it seems like he worked on both the suits used in the movie and the promotional costume pieces:

That hand stitching doesn't look like fun at all.
One thing is that the stitching holes are made in the mold itself, according to one of the creators. It would be great to see what the inside of the top of the cowl looks like, and if these props also have the "skullcaps" in them.
