2001: a Space Odyssey EVA pod

Hello! Sorry to bother you but I was wondering if there was any way I could buy your 3D model of the EVA pod to 3D print.

I scoured the web for a resin kit or 3D model that I would like but they were either absurdly expensive, very undetailed, or incredibly tiny. I found exactly one 3D model that was both highly detailed and affordable ($6.50) but it seems that the site pinshape.com has disabled purchases due to server issues for several months now. And I can't contact the designer to work around the issue as it seems he passed away around 2018.

I'm reaching out to you somewhat out of desperation.

Hi. I'm sorry, but I'm not in a position to sell the 3D model. The Chris Knowlton model you mention is reasonably close, but I don't know of any way of obtaining it other than that site. Sorry.

It's alright, I miraculously found a different (but still pretty good) model a couple of days back on 3DWarehouse. But can I ask you about that acrylic cased one you built for a friend?

Did you just glue some sort of black box onto the bottom of the display case to house wiring or did you fashion it out of acrylic sheets, or something else? I just really like how it looks, it's marvelous.

Yeah, the company that made the boxes also makes black acrylic display stands. I bought a stand that's the same width and depth as the boxes.

I left the black stand open on the underside and used its lid within the underside of the clear box.

Anyone in Turkey? My wee pod, having travelled from London to New York to Madrid, is now in Istanbul. :)

Hi there! Did anyone find a way to download the model by Chris Knowlton? It's 2025 and Pinshape still doesn't work. That model seems to be the nicest one. @ nightsnotover I tried to download the ones from 3DWarehouse but Collada files don't seem to work along well with Blender and they can't even been imported. Thingiverse's, Cult's, etc. ones are not very accurate. Please help!
