I have NO photoshop skills at all! But I know many of you do!

Any chance of a repro for the Who fans?

Seems as though the text may be....

Name: John
Surname: Smith
Date of birth: Unknown
Address: 72 Totter's Lane, London
Signature: (signed)

I know I've not been here long, but I'll have a crack at this one. Give me a few moments to find the right image on the BBC iPlayer (looks like I can view it in HD) so that might help clear things up.

EDIT: I'm d/l Friday's Jonathan Ross, to get the best view of the text. Meanwhile, I've located the right image of Hartnell on the BBC pages here. Need to remove the background, though.

Well... the HD image doesn't make the text any clearer, but it does seem to show that the name is on one line, and the two top lines look like red pen, probably an issue number or something. I've also put what I've done for the ID photo. I added a little colour, because I think I can see some there, but I may be mistaken. It's definitely been printed separately, torn and stuck on.

I think that's the best we can do until someone can grab a better image when this episode airs.

Looks like:

No. _______________ Expires ________???

NAME __________________________
ADRESS_________________________
________________________________
________________________________

???? LIBRARY

After that I am not sure. One of the lines must be for a signature I am sure. Not 100% on the Expires. Under the address it appears to be the name of a Library. Maybe Newington Library?

My best guess,
DBCooper

If they're using the picture of the 1st Doctor i'm not sure the name would be John Smith. That was invented by Jamie in the 2nd Doctor story " The wheel in space ".

BTW, where did you get that screen shot?

Here's what I have so far. The smaller text and the handwriting are too small to read, but it'll be easy to change that when we have a clearer image. The ID photo is on the card with a little drop shadow at the moment, but for the final version I'd suggest printing it separately and sticking it on.

When this is finished I'll be sure to put a nice big version up in the Free Paper Props section.

Well I had to put something to help me work out sizes and spacing. :)
I like when props have gag text like that on, and I'd be tempted to keep it, but with more shows being shot in HD I'm guessing all the little text needs to make sense because there's more chance of it actually being legible on screen.

Fantastic work. !!! A super cool prop. Dont stop...get working :lol

Oh, I'm still tweaking it. In fact I've now got it so it only uses two sizes of text, which I think would be more accurate if we assume the library card is from the 60's. It might not be, but then it does look like the text is typewritten, and it's on plain card so.... *shrug*

Apart from that, unless anyone has super-powered eyesight and can read the blurry text, there's not much I can do just yet. Besides, knowing my luck, the BBC will probably have this as a download when the episode airs.

They may, but it won't be as cool. Great Work! I'm so going to start carrying this around with me. Yes, I'm only a few months away from 41 years of age, and I'm a Who-nerd! :lol

Nothing ever stays the same in Dr who ...its the new series psychic paper.

Definitely not the psychic paper. If it was it wouldn't have A) shown up on camera, B) appeared as a library card when he obviously didn't intend it to. It was just a gag because everyone expected the psychic paper.
