101% accurate Iron Man Helmet

Lol! I meant it when I commented and said you have the best helmet I've seen. Now I see why you defend your method so strongly!
I just checked out the iphone vid, I couldn't understand it but you're one crazy guy lol. :D
I also heard that about the size of the bust, reviews said it seemed a bit smaller than 1:1. That's a good idea.

Doh...i even read the comment to my gfriend and I was like a little baby all happy :D Now, seeing what you've done with this 3d File I can definetely go back to act like a happy baby ahahahahha :D I'm really honored ;)

Good god though... I'm really starting to r-e-s-p-e-c-t the dedication it takes to do these.... Doing the rim pieces around the edges and crevices. I need a beer.

When you sized your down, which file did you start with?? the 265mm height one? I have the face and the top of the head done and I have to be honest, at 265, I do not think this is going to be wide enough. It is about 1.5 cm smaller in width than my DB helmet I got 1/2 done on and that was at 19.5 cm width.

Darth Veach, i've got a SMALL head. Once I get the chance to add the hinges after completing... I'll be able to get my head in. I'm a fan of tight-fitting helmets because I hate the look of an 'oversized' head, lol. it should work anyway.... ( I think)

Anyway, I've got another 12 pieces to cut out but i'll be leaving that for tomorrow.
here's today's progress.

And not thinking... the best place I could think to set this guy was on top of my night light...
Didn't even think about the effect it would make when I turned it on haha..

WOO!!! Lookin' good so far! :D
I'm with you man, while designing this helmet I kept in mind that accuracy meant not being able to slip this thing on. I'm not a fan of really big helmets either, I actually scaled mine so that after resining and fiberglassing it will just barely fit around my head.

Google the word 'pepakura' and the viewer program should be in the first few results. Go for the most recent version.

You might have issues with the files being meant for printing on US letter sized paper or card though.. Not (UK) A4.

Thanks skiffy !

Sharkhead is one person and Gemini Khan is another.

Gemini Khan is the one who made the awesome Iron man helmet from scratch out of Sintra and bondo. No pepakura file.

Figured I'd post this here since this is where I found it. Thanks to all who put into this helmet!

Anyone who says they can't pep an Iron Man helmet because it's "too hard" should give this one a try. It's wicked easy to build, and looks very sharp and accurate.

WOW great helmet !
i think you got the jaw separation wrong !!
you've cut it a little bit too far on the back !

Yeah, I know. This one's my prototype. The helmet is a little small for my head, it fits in, but presses too hard on my ears. I just wanted to cut a straight line, so it would be easy to repair if the fit was good. However, the fit ain't good.

I'm gonna pep a bigger one soon, but I'll keep building the smaller one, using it as a proto for hinges and such. Also, I'll permanently attach the chin back, I wasn't planning on doing the opening chin for the motorizing, just the faceplate. On the bigger helmet, I'll probably cut the back part out instead.
