Thanks to everyone here that help me after all the mistakes I made during my first attempt.

It's not perfect by any means. There are plenty of minior paint goofs, were the black and grey meet beteen the LEDs isnt a perfect arch. But for the first prop I've ever painted I think it turned out pretty good.

I'm planing to do some more minor touch ups on the gold band and put a clear coat on it and it's as done as it's going to be.

Thanks guys.

thanks for the kind words guys. I've put a few coats of clear coat over it. Makes everything nice a smooth and shiny. But I guess my air was a bit more dusty than i expected and I used a paper towel to dry it after a wash and I have a few small dust particals in the paint. :( a little disapointing but for a peice that you'll never go oever witha fine tooth comb no biggy in my opinion.

let me get one more layer of clear on before.

However when I was giving it good look over I noticed that in my washings i must have rubbed the painted LEDs a bit too much. Some of the paint has rubbed off. But since it's already got a few layers of clear over I don't think there is much I can do. :(

That does look very nice.
I have a resin copy that needs paint. I might have to get it out and finish it.

Keep up the good work.

Some pictures of it all finished. The macro pictures really pick up the dust and finger prints that are not actually on the finish. That's not to say that the finish is perfect in anyway but it would take a good close look to notice the mistake. I tried to get pictures of some of the mistakes in the paint though. And the flash tended to wash out the LEDs and the black paint.

Here I tried to get a picture of a rub in the paint right next to the recharge port and get a detail picture of the screw but the focus ended up being on the knub that sticks out.

Detail of the green LED

A picture of the red LED a little washed out from the flash but you can see where I rubbed though the silver while cleaning it. I didn't notices until after I started clear coating it though.

Detail of the arch. You can still tell that it's not a perfect arch. The big bump in the right is reflection from the flash.

Arch a little farther out.
