1/8th Scale Power Loader Kit

Hey folks...

I just thought you might like to see pictures of the completed Power Loader master. In case you don't know, this will be a 1/8th scale kit including a Ripley figure. You can check out the evolution here...

http://www.forbidden-zone.biz/loaderprogress.htm

I got it tacked together just long enough to take some pictures...now its off to have Ripley added. As you'll see in the pics, I had to prop up the arms since it's not actually glued together. There are lots of pistons and such that are in the pics...but I couldn't add. Just a few more notes...

The Loader is about 15" tall. The parts count right now is around 30...but that could change. She'll come with all the hydraulic hoses, decals and a vacuformed clear plastic piece for the rotating beacon light at the top. There will be a base...but it will be minimal. This thing is gonna be a monster..

The master was fabricated by a very talented cat named Tom 'Servo" Seiler.

And now....the pics....

Thanks for taking a look.

Very sharp. Beautiful sculpt and a nice, clean cast. Looks as if there are moving parts, too. :thumbsup

May I ask why you elected to do this in 1/8 rather than 1/6 scale? Was it a matter of size and cost?

I would think that you could have pulled in orders from collectors of 1/6-scale action figures if you had opted for that scale.

Just curious. :)

Yeah...pretty much production cost. It will include a Ripley figure...so there will be quite a few parts. Also, it will be static pose...not poseable.

Thanks,
Mike

I just noticed your the person who made that beautiful Bride of Frankenstein Prop Replica over on the Horror film board. Sorry I didn't recognize you sooner.
Welcome to the RPF, glad to see you here.

Question? Do you have any plans of producing that Bride of Frankenstein Prop Replica for sale? If you ever definitely do you can seriously count me in or one.

Bye for now

Hey Al...yeah...that's me. Thanks for the welcome...and for the compliment on the Bride piece. Maybe I should post pictures over here. To answer your question...yes...I plan on producing that. It may be a kit...or an assembled prop..or both.

Thanks,
Mike

Yes that Bride of Frankenstein prop is one great looking piece.
To have a replica, kit or assembled would be nice, with respects to Kenneth Strickfaden of course.

I'm the poster on the other board who asked if you had ever been to American Science and Surplus.

Bye for now
Al
