1/700 DVD Box Set Yamato

I've built up the DVD box set 1/700 Space Battleship Yamato and I was wondering if anyone knows or has an idea what gray color bandai used for the gray parts of the kit.

The model kit is designed so that painting is largely unnecessary and since I suck (LOL) I chose to build it with no painting other than using a Gundam marker to detail it here and there.

The problem is, is that I need to touch up the areas where the parts were trimmed from the sprues.

I've tried normal flat gray and flat black to try and match the color, but it has too much "blue" in the gray.

Apparently, this particular gray either needs some tan(?), brown(?) or maybe green?

Here is some pics with flash and without :

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

What about using an automotive primer since automotive paints are known for being durable?

I ask because I don't want to melt the plastic.
