1.5 Scale Vader helmet

Hi, long time listener, first time caller..

This is an upsized vader helmet I'm working on.
Why 1.5 scale? Couple reasons, one is the whole spaceballs thing, the other is, as I'm sure many of you will have experienced, when you held a replica vader helmet for the first time you realise how much bigger it is than you expected. But I guess the real reason is because I saw a bobblehead vader and thought it was silly and all those things clicked in my warped little mind.
I'm not game enough to get into making a real vader bucket from scratch just yet [I'd have to learn how to make molds and stuff] and I was a little daunted how much work my rubies vader would need.
So I decided to make an upsized helmet out of cardboard.
I used the measurements off my rubies helmet to make all the peices.

Still a work in progress, I'm posting this as incentive to get my arse into gear and finish it already.
Already made the mouth grill/mesh, and metal tusks.
I'm just trying to smoothen out the surfaces. I used car body filler to smoothen out the mask. Not sure what to do about the helmet though. Needs to be light enough to not weigh down the whole thing too much.

I sprayed it up with some black at one point to see how it was looking.

I see out the mouth and chin grills. Visability is ok.

Sorry...I can't stop laughing...:lol

This is one of the best builds I've seen in a while...but just curious, why would you make a bobble head Vader lid??? :lol:lol:lol

I love it! Laughed out loud at the first shot of you with the huge Vader Bobble Bucket on your head.

This is the first 1.5-scale Vader build I've ever seen. You, sir, have spaceballs, indeed! :lol

Thats awesome, and also amazing for carboard and tape, a little bondo and you have an amazing sculpt. Thats talent!

It's looking great, and it is most definitely a unique idea! :thumbsup Thanks for sharing the pics and giving me something to smile about to break up this long work day. :p

Cheers guys.

Seeing as I'll never be able to pull off a decent vader being 5'7, I think this puts me at David Prowse Vader height.

Ahhh i see usually the vertically challenged go for the 10" heel boots you've gone for the other option making the head bigger, i like it it's thinking outside the box :lol

lol this is something I'd love to see at a convention. I couldn't imagine how awesome it would be to see a lifesized bobblehead Vader. Heelarious! ^^
