1/350 K'Tinga

Rich, how many pulls from the molds do you anticipate before the crisp detail begins to decline?

And will you re-mold the master at that point?
 
I got the machine in and sprayed up a lower K'tinga, it took 45 seconds! LOL. It got up under the lip and everything, and not a bubble to be seen anywhere. I can adjust the length of the fiberglass strands depending on the application, for something like this I set it on 1/4" strands, for big stuff like the D I can put it on 1" strands.

This fiberglass is 4 times more heavy duty than the stuff I was using before with the traditional hand lay up method.

10 castings sounds horrible. I'm not going to be using epoxie in silicone anytime soon. I think you'd get better yields out of clear urethane. And less hand labor. (Well, before the chop gun of course.)
 
I've installed all the lighting etc. and now on to paint. Also, after building this up there's a few things I'm going to have to change on the kit, nothing major.

Better looking than Miss December (in it's own way, of course!)...

I wonder who's more excited - follower's of this project, or the followers of the 38" Cooper SD.

That is a GREAT point Rob! ;)

Both the K'Tinga and the large scaled SD are my absolute favorite designs that I have always thought were long to be created for the public. I have a feeling many feel the same way. We have been waiting 30 years for the SD... and almost 29 years for the K'Tinga. I find it funny that they both will be released so close to each other! LOLOLOLOLOL

Kurt you're totally right! Just very cool that both are coming out now! For me, the K'Ting takes it, though... I loved ST:VI (though I know this model is technically TMP), and I loved building up the off-the-shelf kit.

I can't wait to nab this one!

So forgive my ignorance, I read a bunch of this thread, but was curious as to how you will be selling this. I think I can probably avoid selling the kidney, but just barely.

I got my replacement resin in today, and I'll be casting these up all week. The first one's will start shipping out next week.

Price is $450 including shipping in the US, but no more orders until I can catch up with the one's I took before.
 
After a few last minute revisions to the kit it's now completely finished and I will be shipping them out in the order they were paid for. Probably about 3 per week, sorry for the hold up.
