Each model has its challenges for sure. You're doing very well from where I stand

I think my piping is ready for prime time, the part has a bunch of over-spray on it so it looks messy (plus it's just a test part) but I feel that I have a good process down for the pipes. They really do look much better than the 3D printed version so now I just have to sand off the original on the piece I am using and get these wings buttoned up.

Some more shiny and smooth parts ready for primer and paint. Mixed in there are a few parts for a project that I am testing out...

I have a bunch of parts waiting for paint. I need to start on some kind of temp base to the final finishing.

I was looking around at some other builds and it dawned on me that this kit is missing a pretty prominent detail, rivet holes (or whatever they are). Time to break out the hand drill and listen to a book while I drill a ton of tiny holes

Except for the wings, all the pipework is done and all the holes have been made. It's really starting to look like a thing now!

Starting to work on some different armature options. This kit is designed to mount from the rear so I am just trying to work out how I can make it so that I can rotate the model and be able to reposition the wings.

I saw this on Facebook and I could not resist, I have been looking for a better way to organize my tools

I printed these super quick and dirt so prints are not great but that is fine for this.

Working on the lower gun pod and decided to use some wire to recreate the pipes instead of resin printing the pipe. The guns are all straight, the camera angles make it look like I can't keep things in a straight line

Using wire for the pipes looks great! I think the pipes on the Bandai kit are a bit thick, but these look really nice! Are the guns resin printed?

Thanks. The small ones are resin, the large one was super easy to sand so it is PLA.

This project is really starting to come together now. I finally was able to get some tubing that would fit just right so that I could pose the wings. I was also able to break out my favorite liquid mask. Not sure how I did models all these years without it

The smaller wire is 22 gauge. It's nice to work with as it has a coating on it but you can't tell and it's super stiff.

The larger wiring is also 22 gauge but has a rubber coating.

The bottom section is coming along great. I was initially going to go more 'accurate' on the colors for this, but I liked my Bandai build so much I said the heck with it, I really like the blue and grey.

The blue/grey is XF 82 (Ocean Gray 2), the Tan paneling is XF-55 (Deck Tan) and all the silver-colored parts are all Alcald Stainless Steel. I really love working with these Alclad lacquers. They go on crazy smooth, are pre-thinned to the perfect level, and clean up in minutes. The darkest parts are XF-69 Nato Black. Once I discovered and started using Nato Black, I almost never use straight black anymore, it's often too harsh for my builds.
