1 month project for a customer .
Made as an diorama for a original 1973 il tempo gigante car from the movie Flåklypa Grand prix ( pinchcliffe ) best Norwegian movie ever hehe


made from a 90 x 60 x 10 cm styrofoam sheet , that was carved out and made as an base for the top of the cliffe . the rest is made from balsa wood , and some metal plastic etc

95% finish



will add some leafs for the tree and some light inside the houses .

Seen it ... OF COURSE .... it's part of the Scandinavian DNA .... Love it .. and this work is just amazing ....... hits me right in the "Nostalgia centre"

its a original 1/18 car that came out in 1973 ish after the movie ( a replica ) but they are wort 6-700 usd . the original used in the movie was much bigger and probably worth 50 000 usd hehe

Now there is made 2 new movies with stop motions and they are pretty cool to , but not as good as the old one hehe

I've made some research into the model cars used in the film. A lot of assumptions had to be made, in order to figure out the scales of the different scale models used in the film. And how large they approximately would be in the real world.

I assume that Reodor is aprox 170cm tall.
This will make the Il Tempo Gigante 644 cm long, from starter handle to rocket exhausts.
This will make the largest model in scale 1/4,2 or roughly 1/4.
And this will make the car you're using 1/22,5. Which is very close to the smaller scale cars they used for the wide shots of the race.
Rudolphs car was based on a 1/20 model kit, the other drivers car's was 1/24 toy cars. And Il Tempo Gigante was scratch built, but I don't have exact measurements on this. But it is build to fit in amongst these two other scales. My guess is that your toy car is very close in scale to this filming miniature.
