1:1 Terminator Arnold Bust customization project

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

Awesome that you're going all the way with a lifesize. This thing is going to look killer when finished!

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

Thanks guys I appreciate the support!

At first it was supposed to be only a bit of touch-up on the bust, nothing this extensive..However, after talking to some people I decided I'll give it a try to do it full size, and so far, it's going pretty good!

I'll be sure to update a thread with any progress I make :)

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

Don't forget how huge arnold was in T1. He just came off mr olympia so build up his shoulders especially wide. These mannequins are super slender. I build them up with rags and duct tape. The bubble should be ok if u wrap it tight with the duct tape. Also don't stress out on eyelashes (which were probablysinged off with the eyebrows) and the eyes themselves will be totally obscured by the glasses anyway. Ill post my pics later.

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

I have approximate proportions of Arnold from that time ;) So it'll be done on the measure!
I plan to use some rags, bubble wrap and a tape..

I was torn on the eyelashes, wasn't sure to add them or not, so I checked the movie just to be sure, and he had eyelashes on, so that the rout I took.

Even tho he'll have glasses on, I'll be doing a big change/upgrade on the Endoeye!

About the pictures, I'd really appreciate if you could share some, can't wait to see them..it can only help me out ;)

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

Here he is amost done,,,,need to sculpt the hair around the glasses and do the hands, and a little weathering on the jacket.

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

You did great job on the body....he looks really big..
Feel free to post more pictures if you'll have some time!

What did you do the put the lasses on? Drilled two holes on the sides?

EDIT: And yeah, of course, when you'll have some time, by all means, post some more pictures I'd really appreciate it!

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

For the glasses, I cut off the ends of the Gargoyles ( which i hated to do) then drilled into the head at the apropriate locations, insert and then resulpt in the hair with epoxy putty (which I havent done yet obviously) then paint.

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

I must say this looks really really good. He's really huge in the chest area, and you managed to get it perfectly!

I'll look into getting the Gargoyles on without cutting them..I should get them in few weeks so I'll see what to do on that part.

Thank you so much for posting pictures, it'll really help me to have something for a direct reference. Unfortunately, there isn't many pictures (or actual builds of this kind) on the net!

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

Thanks. Can't wait to see how you approach yours. I used paper mache for the chest. Sticks great to the mannequing and sands excellent.

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

Now that's an idea, never occurred to me! I just might do the same thing..

Well, first thing is to get the head off and see how will the bust go up on there!

I cut off Arnies shoulders and the mannequin below the neck. Spot crazy glue it in place just to hold it. Then I used five minute epoxy with fiberglass cloth to hold it permanently. The sculpted up the chest.

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

Did you get the head off yet?

Hey, sorry for a bit late reply......I had this project paused for a bit..Real life struck me, and some days passed with no work, however, today I finally got some bits and parts I waited for.
I was afraid that I might have problem, because, even tho it's toy/airsoft, importing guns isn't something that usually goes without trouble.
Customs did hold the package for about 10 days, but in the end, box came to me with no problems.

It's not much, but it should make a nice difference for a final display!

SPAS 12 airsoft.....Plan is to maybe have that thing repainted and make it look more real, tho I like it just as it is, will look really good with Arnold!

..and finally!

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

Nice job on your Ahhnold T-1 display.:thumbsup

I have been working on my own display myself for a while now.

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

Thanks :D I try to do my best!

Why don't you make a thread, or feel free to share few pictures here if you wish, I'd love to see your project!

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

Good score on the glasses. Where did you pick up the shotgun and what do they run price wise?

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

Thanks chuckybaby555, I'm really glad I finally managed to get Gargoyles..now the stress of actually using them and modifying bust to put em on!

About SPAS, (as well as Gargyoles, and few other smaller things) friend in America got it for me. It's hard to get these things in the Europe because of the laws about guns etc.
I'm not exactly sure about the price, but it wasn't much, I can assure you..Somewhere in $30-$60 range.....something like that!

Re: 1:1 T1 Arnold Bust (minor) customization project

Arnold has his glasses ON! :D

Quite a stressful customization, but I managed to get it right.
I'll have to touch up the bit where I drilled the bust with some brown paint, but it's all well..

I've removed the plastic parts off of the Gargoyles handles:

And couple of pictures of the bust:

Now waiting for the metal Endoeye, and I'll start working on the legs, buffing them up, also plan out how to remove head from the mannequin, and way to attach Arnold!
