1:1 Silicone 'ESB' Yoda 'Full Statue'... FINALLY Done!!

Thanks guys!! He was a huge labor of love of course :D

That's amazing, Howard! It seems like the silicone makes him look even more lifelike than the original puppet.

The goal was to have him very opaque and 'latex' looking (like the original)... my photographer friend used these lights that I feel were way too bright and washed his skin out :( In person he looks a million times better and looks just like his ESB latex puppet. My friends camera and skills in photography still blows me under the water ;)

Fantastic Yoda. Looks like he's ready to start Jedi training right now. LOVE:love:love:lovethe base. Would you be able to offer casts of it? It would be the perfect finishing touch.

Not really... the base is exclusive to the finished 'statue'.

That is amazing Howard.

A fully working silicone puppet form ESB would make my childhood dreams come true.

Did you sculpt this for an outlet (side show ect) or is this something you will be selling?

Weequay

This one is a personal project... it would look a lot different if Lucasfilm dictated how it should look :lol

This came out Incredible man! I love that you are able to repose
his arms with the can too! The base was the perfect touch to put
this piece over the top! :cool

Absolutely amazing Yoda.... well done Howard, I know this is the end result of a long time you have spent analysing pics of Yoda movie stills, and making numerous sculpts, and castings.

You've finally done it mate.... I'm no Yoda-expert, but to me it just looks 'right'.... and that's a sign of a job well done :thumbsup

Yeah... let's see a stop-motion video of Yoda spelling out the Y.M.C.A. of the Village People song! :lol
Put it on YouTube and watch the ratings soar!

Did I say that 'YMCA thing' out loud? ... probably should've stopped at one bottle of Corona tonight :unsure

The silicone adds such realism...I wouldn't mind seeing photos in lighting similar to what we see in stills of Yoda on Dagoba.

To a new level the bar you have definitely raised. :)

:thumbsup

A video will be coming... I'm waiting for my cable controlled puppet version for that though ;)

That is a good idea... I might have to have a re-shoot!

I was wondering when the 'other' Yodas would start popping up to steal some Thunder... :lol It's really not possible for anyone to show something new around here without someone bringing up old stuff... and the comparisons start!

I think the best thing about the ESB Yoda is he was so different from scene to scene that everyone can capture him a little bit different from the next!

Oh well :rolleyes

I can only assume this comment was directed at me because someone posted in my yoda thread.

I think you're a great sculptor and extremely talented. I also think your yoda is awesome.

It's not about whose yoda is the "best".
