1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

This is a THANK YOU to Sofa and all you other RPFers that contributed to this build. You all were my inspiration to do this for my neighbors 5 year old son Conor.

This was done over 3 weekends and some long nights, so some of it was rushed for the surprise reveal. But couldn’t have done any of it without your inspiration. Thanks!

Hey C17,

That is absolutely outstanding! Kudos to you for taking on the project. I hope it was as much fun as it was for the little Star Wars fan. If that were me I wouldn't be able to sleep... AT ALL! You included everything... Chess Table, Couch, Cockpit... LOVE IT! The blue and white tiles brings back a LOT of memories!

You are the hero of the month! :)

Hi Gang,

It's been a hectic couple of weeks but I am finally back with another update!

I got around to working on the full scale head piece to the nav chair. I am hoping to make a mold of this...

These 3D prints are amazing but the amount sanding and filling is a killer!

Finally, a new video has been posted! Hope you all enjoy it. :)

As always, thanks for all your continued support! More to Follow so stay tuned...

Greg! Dude! I always have to remind myself that this new cockpit is not at a 1:1 scale...the spray-can near by was one good indicator:eek:
Keep up the great work!!

I'm trying, J! I'm really hoping for a hyper-realistic 1/6 scale model. Izzy and I working very closely together to ensure we get these greeblies not only to scale but still retain as much detail as the 3D printers allow. But most important... we're still having fun! :)

Hi Gang,

Another quick update of this weekend's progress! Enjoy! :)

The front window to the YT-300 is almost finished. There will be a LOT of little details added to the interior side of the window.

I designed and built a set of "maint lockers" that sit just outside the cockpit. I really like the idea but I think I'll reduce it to two lockers. I need a bit more space for the corridor ring pads. But I like the overall idea. Not sure what the other side will get. Maybe a new/older maint computer? I like the idea of seats or a single "mini" nav chair?

The nav chair head piece is more squared off than the YT-1300 series (this also makes it easier to create)

Main console greeblie I tossed together with random pieces I had laying around in several bins

Main console looking closer to getting some paint!

Single seat configuration and the upper console panel. I think the upper panel needs to be a bit bigger and bulkier

Side view - you can see the 3 Throttle Lever housing (not 4)

Main body panels finally see some life with the acrylic panel(s) in place! Note how much of the side panel is exposed next to the canopy

More pics and vids on the way! :)

Love the idea of the maint/crew lockers. Just a workaday ship. No glamour or glory. Just doing the day to day grind in the galaxy.

I'd just put a simple maint. console with a screen and keyboard on the opposite side. Just a stand up station. No seat. Of course you'd need the ubiquitous assortment of greeblies. Maybe a couple of beat up helmets hanging up.
