1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

The words out of my mouth, as well.

I wonder if this means they designed some other compartments in the ship. Or if that padded cutout is just a new way of decorating the wall behind the lightsaber training area. Dang I want a ground plan of the set.

oh I'm virtually certain of it.

I did a photomatch of the photos from a few months ago of the falcon's interior under construction...

Couple more via http://www.starwars7news.com/ ... Pic 1 looking out the internal corridor set curved airlock door at the “partial” ramp set piece (NOT the full ramp construction, which is a part of the “outer shell falcon”), and then pic 2 looks back at the unfinished (and never filmed side) of the airlock door.

As cool as it looks... I'm not sure with the way they greeblied the back wall of the cockpit. I would have assumed more access panels than the exposed wiring. But that's just one man's opinion. :)

Either way... keep these PICS coming!!!!

You're gonna stare at it until it eats at you.

It looks to me like there would/should be a panel covering it. Everything appears recessed.

Man those ramp pics are awesome! I've seen that view so many times in my model, but seeing a full set piece all done up... what a treat.

here's a nice old chestnut https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gabwr0riaEc

I still can't believe all of the things you've done with "SketchUp" concerning the falcon (and your many walk-through videos). I modeled most of my house with SketchUp, but many a time threw up my hands in frustration trying to get things just right. Been there, done that! lol... Amazing work.

Never noticed the pressure door at the top of the ramp. Makes sense... (Was I not paying close enough attention for the last 35+ years!?!?)

think back...

Chewie, get us out of here!!

So, you only really see it for a few frames, and then never again except for in distant background shots. Even on ESB, they don't show the door up-close or actuating. I'm really hoping we see a bunch of it in the new one.

Another shot of it that was posted a little ways back. Was first thought to be fake by some but is obviously the real deal. The interior corridor set ramp, less finished version of the outer shell ramp... It kind of looks like the top photo is a bit more recent, like they threw some gray paint on the back side of the door...

Wow, wow, wow, wow, there's almost too much awesome here for me to absorb it in one sitting! From the continued progress ever closer to a full cockpit, to the new automated quad coming together, to the set photos from VII (and the possibility that we're looking at the same console/cockpit from the Originals!) it's all so exciting that I think I may have sudden health issues! Keep the awesome coming, though, I'll brave through it!

whoa, somehow missed that one.

Time will tell I guess.

Check out what I highlighted:

That's a thin strip of material, roughly 1/4 inch thick. On the side farther from the camera, it's difficult to tell how thick it is. It gives the impression that the grey area could be several inches deep. But if you follow the strip over to the left side of the picture (closest to the camera), you can see the strip is very thin, and has almost no depth. It's roughly 1/4 inch thick, which means the grey area that the greebles are connected to is pretty raised up flush with the white pads that frame the door.

You win, it's not worth debating.
