truly impressive.
I can't help but keep checking ths thread's progess.
My amatuer creator mind is wondering the next step.
When I make something out of clay, I bake it, then mold it.

Is that how large scale items like this proceed, or is your clay hard enough to accept the silicone for molding?

This material I've used to create this sculpture is in fact the softest form of Chavant oil/wax clays (so definately no baking or it'll melt), which is mostly used for prosthetics, however it takes great details and stays great for long periods of time without cracking and shrinking.... ideal when you want to take ages over something to get it right. It has advantages and disadvantages over WED clay (check out my Luke and Emperor sculpts), part of which I've already mentioned, but overal fantastic for the details and textures. Definately no baking is required and slightly moist clay doesn't affect silicone
