1:1 "Freeborn" YODA (THE ULTIMATE GOAL) R.I.P STUART FREEBORN

Re: 1:1 ESB....YODA....(WIP New pics page 3)

... also did a molding using a Urethine rubber compound that was sent to me by a friend to experiment with. I'll probably be making this in that sort of material but need to see what its like to paint first.

Actually I sent that stuff for the hands I traded you Phil...PM coming.

To answer the question, it paints very easily and one can get really great results as well as a very skin like feel and appearance with it.

Yes Mike you did send that very small Urethine sample for those latex hands from the old plaster molds (I was a little surprised you sent that stuff to be honest as I was only expecting a bit of foam buddy as a swap for your Hamill lifecasting) and I think you've misunderstood that I don't have silicone molds for the old style hands...just the feet (but you didn't ask about thoses did you?) thats why I'm making new versions that will have silicone molds:love

All is well my friend, I know why you couldnt use the sample as you explained it at the time....sorry if my post came across as an accusation, that was not my intention. :):thumbsup

Re: 1:1 ESB....YODA....(WIP New pics page 3)

No probs Mike, good that you're interested in helping me develop the Puppet version of this piece... should be great with all the articulation :)

Re: 1:1 ESB....YODA....(WIP New pics page 3)

Puppet version??

This just keeps getting better :love

Re: 1:1 ESB....YODA....(WIP New pics page 2)

Heres one pic showing that I'm not only trying to mimic the wrinkles as closely as possible but also the style and technic... I'm not just going for an idealised perfect looking sculpt... it has to feel like it was created by the hands of Freeborn.

:thumbsup

Totally the key to capturing something like this... and the most challenging part!

I think you're sculpt looks absolutely amazing! But I think the eyes protrude too much. Also, the bags under his eyes seem slighty off center and directly under the center of his eyes. I'm not sure if it's just the angles of the pictures you have taken. I know that every picture looks different because he's a puppet and changes from expression to expression. Your sculpt is obviously the most accurate Yoda produced so far, keep up the great work.

This is awesome! cann't wait to see what a fully finished puppet would is going to look like.

Re: 1:1 ESB....YODA....(WIP New pics page 3)

When i look at your yoda its as if he is speaking to me. I can hear him reciting his lines from ESB. right out of the picture. Is that weird ?, do i need more sleep? or does anyone else get this?

I think it is the light bud... you'll see when I do a series of photo comparrision shots when I'm nearly finished - the whole look and feel of it is based on the way I've sculpted these eyes. ;)

Re: 1:1 ESB....YODA....(WIP New pics page 3)

I wouldn't have thought you COULD improve THAT much on your older sculpt...

I was wrong!

The eyes look SPOT ON IMHO! Can't wait to see a finished puppet!

I'm deffinately going to be wanting one! ;)

Re: 1:1 ESB....YODA....(WIP New pics page 3)

Sculpt looks great, lots of work. Applause to you for posting for input before completion. Just curious, how are you doing the back side of the foot (ie heel area) and underside?
