1:1 ANH Luke Skywalker Silicone Portrait... (Final Pics Pg3)!!

Re: 1:1 ANH Luke Skywalker Silicone Portrait... WIP

I always want to see the earlier stages of the bust build up but you bustsculptors are awfully shy about that part of the process it seems.

Really nice howard. Some tweeks on the cheeks yes, but so far in early stages, really nice, and looks alot more like hamil than other recent attempts by other artists lately. Im sure by the end, this will be insane, especially in silicone with real hair.

Heman, thanks for the compliments but let's not compare apples and oranges. If you are referring to a recent 'ESB' version, there is no 'better' than the others... and so on.

Looks great Howard... nice to see a fresh approach on a ANH Luke. This'll be the third version I've seen from that film by varous artists. Its also amazing how different Marks face looks from the first film to the next two.

Heman I noticed you seem to have a point to prove towards me (whatever that might be) i.e. a remark in an older posting by you that seemed to be a little bit aimed at me aswell :eek

Thanks Phil! I'm glad I was finally commissioned to make a silicone portrait of ANH Luke... I hate reprising characters that have been done to death, so when it is an actual job, I jump at it ;)

Howard, please continue to post updates. I love seeing the process. :)

I'll post some soon... already added some weight to his face and it has made a HUGE difference!

Actually, it has been a few other sculptors that have given me the idea of posting more 'progress' pics. I love the input!

for us non sculptors.....it's as much fun to see the process as the final product. :)

:rolleyes What point could I possibly be proving by offering encouragement and praise to talented artists when I like there work. That would also include you and your past achievements. Shall I post 50 or more posts that I wrote praising your work too cyberman!

No problem boss, really great start. Im not sure what ESB stands for, but I have seen a couple versions both on the boards and the bay. Just simply saying I really feel youve captured Hamills essence bro and I really like it. Really great work! :thumbsup

You don't kno what ESB stands for? Yet are arguing with cyb and Howard about something involving star wars???

FAIL.

:angel

Howard, you want a critique?

Don't quit your day job!

Oh wait... This IS your day job! :love

I believe Phil feels that your comment about this sculpt being better than other recent attempts is referring specifically to his (mind boggling incredible) ESB/ROTJ Luke, which would look very different from this one considering Hamill's face was reconstructed due to a car accident in between ANH (A New Hope) and ESB (Empire Strikes Back). :)

Great work Howard - as always!!!

Can't wait to see him finished!

Re: 1:1 ANH Luke Skywalker Silicone Portrait... WIP

Damn! That's scary good!

Re: 1:1 ANH Luke Skywalker Silicone Portrait... WIP

Not while theres recasters about willing to reproduce our sculptors labours of love...

Re: 1:1 ANH Luke Skywalker Silicone Portrait... WIP

At least to me, a well finished silicone bust looks light years better than a resin one.

Re: 1:1 ANH Luke Skywalker Silicone Portrait... WIP

So no chance of getting resin copies?

Phil is 100% correct... I don't plan on making any new projects that involve resin due to how easy it is to recast our work. Places like Smooth On (which I do use BTW) are making this very easy with tons of 'How To' videos and classes... this makes it so easy for talentless scum to just buy someone else's bust and bootleg us to sell on Ebay :( I know Smooth On needs to sell products and they have a business to run, but I wish this trade was more like the old days where people had to learn it the good old fashion way!

BTW Phil, your recast Maul is back on Ebay.

At least to me, a well finished silicone bust looks light years better than a resin one.

I agree... once you go silicone, it's hard to go back ;)

Sorry, didn't mean to rear up the recaster stories. I have two of your busts Howard and think they are awesome. I also got a luke bust from you that you gave a good deal on since you didn't know who made it. I agree with all the stuff about a silicon bust but can't afford those. I just hoped to have anoter HS star wars bust.
