    Fabric Wrinkle Question

I would try soaking the fabric in water, then wring out whatever water you can, and put it in the dryer and dry it till it's slightly damp. Then bunch it up and let it dry. When I leave my clothes in the dryer overnight, my clothes is always wrinkled the next morning.

    LED 'Best Practices' Question

I used acrylic sheets with the LEDs projecting in from the edges. I wet sanded the surface of the acrylic with high grit (600-800) sand paper to help diffuse the light. I also used mirrored vinyl on the back of the acrylic to help reflect the light outwards. If this doesn't make any sense...

    Weapons for War Machine Build

I made a minigun out of PVC and it was too heavy to wear. It pulled my chest piece to whichever side it was on. I ended up using foam for the main parts, and rigid aquarium tubing( I assume it was polycarbonate) for the barrels. I freehanded the forearm guns by layering thick and thin foam...

War Machine - Done - For now

Re: War Machine - Keep me motivated build. Either that's a really small helmet, or a gigantic arc reactor.:lol. Looks like you have a full tank of motivation! I know you have one arm built, but an arm that's scaled too big will work better than if its too small. Finish the suit! One more for...

That baby is awesome! I forgot to add, I made vectors of the decals. It's an illustrator file and I wanted to know if people download it, is it useable?

    Foam Machine (Eventually pic heavy)

Whoops, didn't know the thread still had people in it...:lol. But anyway, gannikus I pepped the helmet, since I wanted to mold it. Originally I was going to do a whole fiberglass suit, but ended up using foam to see if I could make a presentable costume with supposedly less work. Stealth sums...

    Foam Machine (Eventually pic heavy)

Nooooooo, the point of the thread was to inspire others to build thier own. Don't give me too much credit, just trying to show people that anyone can do this. I realized that the 2 biggest factors in this hobby/obsession are time and skill. As long as you have plenty of either you can make it...

    Foam Machine (Eventually pic heavy)

Thanks Henry! I actually redid most of the suit, so I knew what to change as I redid the parts. For me, the plus side of foam is that there's no body work involved, plus since foam is dimensional layering the pieces speeds the process up. Also, heat forming the pieces helps to get it into the...

    Foam Machine (Eventually pic heavy)

The brush strokes were actually an accident. When I was weathering the helmet, I had diluted black acrylic paint (3 parts paint 1 part water). The rag I was using was already soaked, and it was just streaking the paint like that. I just made sure it was all vertical lines. My gloves ended up...

    Blaz Blue:Hakumen costume

There's a venom build thread that seems to be similar to what you are doing. Of course his name eludes me ATM...:facepalm From what I remember he didn't thin his latex but maybe he has your answer. I'm impressed that you could draw on yourself that well in the mirror. Keep posting, I'm...

    Foam Machine (Eventually pic heavy)

I crawled out of the reality hole:lol. I either tweak out on making things, or don't do any at all. I lurk all the time though. I've been trying to make successful mold of the helmet, but shipping silicone to hawaii is killer. McFly, ditch the Mk IV. We need more WM!!!

Thanks man, I hope that others building war machine keep motivated and finish their suits. Since iron man is seems to be the costume to build, we have to give war machine love too!!!

    Plasti dip replacement.

I'm going to throw my 2 cents in and back the watered down carpenter's glue/PVA method. 1 $6 bottle of glue covered my chest, abs, ammo belt and minigun. That was 5 coats each, plus I got to glue wood together. That probably would've been 6 cans of plastidip. You just have to be more...

    Foam Machine (Eventually pic heavy)

Well being a true procrastinator I finally got a few more pics of my warmachine. I will get some shots of the back later (procrastinating) and the gun. Most of these are of the suit on a stand, and it's a bit taller than I am when I wear it. I'm about 5'10" without the helmet on. My movement...
