Thanks! I'll definitely be checking out both. I'm just clueless when it comes to the categorization of whiskey/scotch/etc. glasses and barware. Wouldn't really know where to start as far as what to search!

Went through and took a few screenshots from my blu ray copy. Nothing too different but figured they might be a bit clearer.

Trying to find the right glass to display next to to my J&B bottle on my ‘The Thing’ shelf. Any whiskey experts recognize the glass? Or know where I could get something similar? It looks to be fairly generic. But most rocks glasses or lowballs I’ve found on Google don’t have the slight curve...

I just looked at the photo, and I am 99% sure I saw this exact piece on display at the RISD museum in Providence. They simply had it leaning on one of the walls. I think they actually mentioned it being inspired by 2001. Joel

I used a two part epoxy, works great and drys fast. For keeping it straight, I used the template from partsofstarwars To mark it on the saber I cut knotches about 1cm into each of the spots for the grips, making sure to leave the spaces in between at full length. Hope that helps! Joel

The box is from hobby lobby! I believe its supposed to be a wine box or something of the sort, I just stained it pretty dark, weathered slightly, and filled with a nice royal blue satin sheet...

Just an FYI, if you're going for an ANH style saber, you can also lose the metal tapetape over the word GRAFLEX, the screen used saber didn't have it. :)

I would wait until the storm clears. Unless you can find one at a yard sale or something like that, you won't find one for a reasonable price. I was lucky enough to get mine for $40 at an estate sale a few weeks ago. Definitely check craigslist and antique shops.

I just used some fine sandpaper because steel wool didn't work either. :) Joel
