    2014 Toronto Prop Party

Despite all the messages, and all the posts, I only just realized this was going on when picking up supplies at SSC this week! Hopefully see you guys out Saturday!

    New pressure pot test

I'm currently relying on the pressure valve on the compressor to ensure I stay 50 - 60psi. After working out leaks, it works well! The gasket is OLD, but with some finessing the biggest leak is actually a hose mismatch where I'm attaching the MPT side of the quick connect to a NPT ... and the...

    New pressure pot test

I haven't posted in a long time, but know that you guys will enjoy this more than most. New pressure pot, circa 1940's. This is the first time bringing it up to a full 50psi. My coworker took this snapshot from the doorway. As an heavy fighter in the SCA I figured a 12ga. metal helm would be...

    Labels/Lettering/Decals?

The wet or dry decals seem like a great way to go, I just wonder about sealing them so they don't wear off with use. This is one of those many times I wish I knew someone in the commercial product industry so I could pick their brain for more ideas. ;)

    Labels/Lettering/Decals?

Does anyone have experience or recommendations on affixing the finishing touches of labels, decals, and lettering? I've tried the mask and paint method, the print on acetate and glue method, and the hand painted method, but none of them have the crisp sharpness of a real product or they wear...

Making a two part silicone mold; release doesn't work?

Smooth On's Universal release is silicon based. Ease release 200 or 205 is a non silicon based release agent. Ease release 2831 will be required to release polyurethane from silicon - as I learned this week after destroying two silicon moulds. :( Or use the various other tips here which are...

    Suggestion Tutorial Forum

I would also like to see a tutorials section. I suggest the following: + Prepopulate and sticky the Tutorials forum with threads for common films/tvshows. (starwars, bsg, fifth element, indiana jones). Users can then reply to these threads with links to tutorials/WIPs. (A moderator could easily...

The movie prop looks terrific! It was executed perfectly. I hope you find a worthy frame for it.

    Euclid's C Finder - Fallout: New Vegas

That turned out great! I agree that a more metallic look would have been good, but the paint job still looks excellant. When will you build the "other" part of this gun? ;)

Where can I find 'spring steel' in narrow strips?

I second on the throwaway steel banding. Look for any place that has bricks shipped to them, or ships them. They will use ~3/4" steel banding which is extremely tough for wrapping the bricks on skids. I have a piece of this stuff laying around just in case it's needed. Careful working with...

    Fallout ultimate edition

I put many hundreds of hours into FalloutNV, though never played 3. Props to build? Nukacola caps and bottles. Sunset Sasparilla too of course. The Laser Rifle, power armour, maybe make a miniature of one of the armed robot police force. Vault dweller suit is easy. I made a 'vault dweller'...
