Scratchbuilt Millennium Falcon 1/72nd

Nothing particularly interesting to add, just plating areas and planning out construction of the landing gear.

Very little new work on this one recently, however this evening I was able to panel the lower docking corridors and carefully separate the starboard corridor to form the boarding ramp

Truley one of the best builds and threads, can't believe how much your getting through on her, Amazing inspirational work!! Could I be cheeky and ask if you could kindly provide a picture of the other side of the docking ramp corridor (oppersit to above)? Trying to get all the notches sorted on my Deago and trying to get good clear pictures is not easy, no worries if not but would be greatly appreciated :)

Keep up the great work, got my creative juices flowing again :cool

Thanks buddio :D
I wouldn't necessarily use my build as reference for the DeAgo, as mine is based around the 5 footer from ANH/TFA, while the DeAgo is a direct replica of the 32 incher from ESB....very different panelling and details. If it helps though, I've assembled Pinterest boards stacked with ref for each version of the Falcon:

32" ESB Falcon (DeAgo)

5' ANH Falcon

Plus there are 3 other Falcon boards on there you should be able to find. Hope this helps!!

May thanks for the links, certainly dug through many threads and online pics, but never considered signing up to Printerest, so will go do it now, thanks for links and keep up this amazing work :)

Thank you all for your lovely comments so far !

This afternoon I fitted some new laser cut components, the purpose of these is to independently support the landing gear hulls, which should ensure that they're all level, strong and square.
A simpler solution might have been to glue the gearboxes straight onto the vac-formed hulls, but there would be no guarantee of strength or alignment.

Staying true to my original purpose of keeping the model as modular as possible, the gear hulls are screwed into a 53mm slice of perspex, which in turn screws into a specially shaped brace, which then in TURN screws into the lower primary hull framing. It sounds more complex than it actually is, but either way it's very sturdy.

As you can see, there are a couple of issues with the boxes not fitting dead flush to the hull as I must have miscalculated the curvature, but once I've added the individual armour plates the gaps ought to be hidden.

A return from holiday, and a return to hobbies once more.
All landing gear boxes are fitted nice and snug now, though my laptop has been out of action and my photography has been sporadic as a result; I'm also gradually shifting my tools and materials into the workshed we recently fitted down the end of our garden, so a lot of my focus has been on insulating and kitting it out.

As you can (sort of see here, in the midmorning sun) it's a calm place to work in.

I've been working on the engine deck for the past two evenings, I find it relaxing....something about the familiarity and symmetry of the thing.

This afternoon I began adding the thruster panels....however I miscalculated the widths of each panel by 1mm, and so the necessary 13 panels didn't fill the space as I needed.....at this point I regretted the care and strength I had put into the joins!
