Re: What's on your workbench?

Sweet! Is that the needler?
Anyway this is what is taking up all of my time and money! Not really gonna start on any other projects till this is done.

Re: What's on your workbench?

Amazing stuff! WOW. I'm currently working on one of these... Apollo Moon mission helmet, the A7-L. Scratch built R2, and some Iron Man and Halo armor.

Re: What's on your workbench?

Impressive projects here!! I'm speechless! And incredible workspaces too! I can't get over some of these!

Right now, I'm in the final layout stages for the "Bourne Legacy" Chems necklace. Finished the design of it based upon screenshots (since there are no other resources for this prop), and have assembled my materials. I should be starting the building stages this week and hope to have some progress picks soon (to post in the one lonely thread here dedicated to this prop).

Kind regards,
Craig

Re: What's on your workbench?

My first post in this thread in many years.

The no. 1 mk. 1 purchased 13 years ago has been started on. No more chrome plating.

The Heiland came from Ebay recently. (About $10.00) I have the molex plugs, but I still need all the other ESB parts.

This is another long term project. I've had Yodashouse/Blast-Tech saber parts for about 10 years, now. The Peak camera flash is another recent Ebay find. They're more rare than a Graflex.

Re: What's on your workbench?

I'm working on the RPF's 1,018th Ironman build. My workbench is getting cluttered though, so I've started moving pieces outside:

It's coming along. Today I'll be finishing up the shins:

There's more, but that's the most pressing project right now.

Re: What's on your workbench?

About a year ago I made this Steampunk Pepperbox and at the moment I am working on a smaller version of it. The smaller one has 4 barrels and is sort of a derringer version of this gun.

The barrels are made out of brass tubes, the trigger is a typewriter key and the grip is a pine 2"x4" that I carved and stained.

Awesome! I love seeing other fully-scratch-built steampunk gizmos; ones built from real wood and metal. There's nothing quite like picking up a steampunk item, and having it be realistically heavy - like a real piece of antique equipment or weaponry.

Is the trigger key operational at all? Does it light up or click or spin or anything?

Re: What's on your workbench?

The trigger does not "do" anything but it has a spring so it can be pressed. I am making some progress on the baby version of the pepper box and now I know the final configuration. It's inspired by the LeMat revolver it has different gauge for the secondary barrel (but the secondary is on top unlike the LeMat). I'll post pics before it's fully assembled.

Dude - LOVE YOUR WORK!

Thanks for the stuff on tested.com. Soon as I'm done my Big Baby build I'm going to take on something that requires mold making, you're work is inspirational!

Holy S*!T, that's the most amazing R2 I've seen, is there a full build post somewhere?

Re: What's on your workbench?

As promised, here is where I am now on the steampunk derringer:

The secondary barrel goes on top, that part is still in pieces on my workbench.

Thanks! Glad people are enjoying the write ups. That project... man... it's been so much more work than I anticipated!

Just wrapped this little guy up, he's heading out to a booth at E3 for the show next week.
