Hello all... I started painting hockey masks based on the F13 ranchise about two months ago. It's something I wanted to get into for a while and I'm diving in. My question, for anyone out there that may partake in this hobby, is how does one create more defined damage lines on a mask? I have tried cutting the mask with an xacto knife as well as sandpaper but neither produces the results I'm looking for. I'll rub acrylic paint into the cuts but they just look meh to me. For example, I'm trying to get damage that looks similar to this...
So would something like the tip of a screw work to acheieve this look? Then rub paint into it? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Here are some pics of my current work. Thanks for your time...
