WARNING: Do not buy from this seller on EBAY

To who it my concern..
My name is Michael I am a long time Ebay I have been taken advantage just like others and I paid somebody threw venmo. Jim hassel..
Luckily I guess I got off cheap at $375. This guy will drop make you anything of an iron man or any other cause to. He will only give you 9 months of excuses. And 1 152 extensions when he said it will only take 2 to 4 months... Up after 7 months do not buy from this seller

I told him to regain his reputation he would need to flip the business model and produce and ship prior to accepting payment. I doubt he will.

I've shipped dozens of items first, before getting paid. I'd say people pay up about 75% of the time.
And of the 25% that never pay up... About half of those were friends that I thought that I could trust to pay up when they could.

I imagine a middle man is called for that holds the funds until both parties are satisfied.

So, Jan/Jim/Vernon is still at it on Ebay. And after 22 years on Ebay, I should have known better. I bought from his auction, I paid using Paypal. He immediately refunded me and then sent a request for $100 less than the auction price, explaining it was for a custom build and would only cost that much. That was my first red flag. He seemed overly knowledgeable and nice. Second flag. His emails came fast and furious, making him seem anxious. Third flag. Yesterday he sent a request for my phone number so he could keep me updated. ???? And today he sends a request for another $350 because materials went up in cost. So, I'm out $550 for an Iron Man suit that I'll never get. Lesson learned. Oh, and the best part? When he sent his request from Paypal, he asked that it be sent via the friends and family method. I now see that that was so I couldn't file a dispute. I'm an idiot. An idiot who is now $550 further away from her Iron Man suit than she was. My only income is the royalties from my book sales and I'm not exactly Stephen King, if you know what I mean. I guess I got what I deserved for letting a shiny Iron Man suit overrule my usual paranoia about people on Ebay. Consider me schooled.

His most recent email to me states that he is trying to do just that. He has agreed to eat the "extra" costs of materials and to have my suit to me in 3 weeks. We shall see. I've held grudges and sworn vengeance in some cases for as long as 40 years. This one won't take anywhere near that long.

Was the money in your PayPal account? or linked to a 'credit/debit card'? *(you may have some recourse with your bank/vendor)

* Never use pay as 'friends/family'... (EVER!)
* Never go outside of PayPal for payment transactions (or other payment processors that offer buyer protection)
* Never pay for something that will take more than 6 months/180 days to be completed. If things get to around the 4 month mark.. FILE A DISPUTE! ALWAYS!.. There is nothing stopping you from giving the person money 'again'... but getting it back before the 6mo. limit is a MUST! (if the seller gets mad.. that is a clue right there)

Maybe ask for a refund.. (saying you put in on the wrong card or company card..etc... WHATEVER)...

Then do it the right way.. paying a bit more for the 'fees'... but keeping your buyer protection.

This guy is not very bright.. I would ask for a refund until you get more to see... I talk to a detective buddy and we threaten to have him caught and he set me back about half of my original $375.. So we got me for $200. Please tell me what he was selling I often look for him with my detective buddy I would recommend highly reporting him to pay pal... Let's start a fight on getting him known everywhere any information would help... I promised him about 6 months ago I would never give it up ruining his life hes a piece of krapp and hes lucky we never run into him in person... I posted it to a bunch of sites.. I would recommend complaining to eBay about him to.. Any way I can help tell me I would love to ruin his life hes worthless he doesn't even make anything it's all lies he lied to me for a solid year

It was linked to my Visa debit card, so I figured that would be my route. There are 60 days to file Ebay feedback and he has until just shy of that to get me my suit before I rain hell down on him.

He is still on Ebay, using the same handle, whitesatin032219573 and selling Iron Man suits. Luckily, he has a few tickets and a couple of outstanding bench warrants against him. Amazing what hubby can find out in just a few minutes. Hubby's a cyber security specialist and computer forensic expert for the gov. Eight emails in under a half hour after I confronted him tells me that dude is scared. He said he would get the suit to me in 3 weeks and that he would eat the extra $350 in materials. I don't believe there were any extra materials. We shall see what happens. So far, I have withheld feedback and complaints. He says he is trying to turn things around for himself and, if he's lying, he's going to regret it for the rest of his life.

I am yet to see him actually make something himself. So far everything he has sold or advertised has been someone else's work. Except for a custom Avatar AMP he sold me... turned out to be a kids toy with some brown paint thrown on it. Lol.

Hate to say it, but I VERY much doubt he could make an IM suit. If someone here has bought an item he actually made I'd love to here it.

I guarantee he is a big fat liar. I would meet him anywhere anytime if you ever reads this . All he did was lie to be for a year never produced nothing he doesn't make the suits it's all a scam. Believe me it broke my heart quite a while Halloween passed by and I had nothing

I am so sorry this happened to you. This guy is a POS and should be arrested. He's got his same ad right back up on Ebay and already he has 8 watchers. It used to be a lot easier to get rid of the crooks on Ebay. Now it's hard. They don't seem to care.

Just get your money back if he is truly scared IF it does show up it probably won’t be the quality you are expecting. Just get a refund. GC

So, I badgered him until he sent me a pic of a finished piece of the armor. This is what he sent. Bear in mind, it's supposed to be fiberglass. Do any of you recognize this pic from somewhere else? Does this look acceptable to any of you? Note the obvious roughness in the knee.
