Hi guys!

I would like to make a Klingon D-7 from scratch using styrene. Where can I begin?

P.S I assembled a D-7 before.

Thanks from,

Scratchbuilding will always need to start with a good set of blueprints. You will need to determine the scale to build it in as well. Here is a link to a set that is availble on-line:

Star Trek LCARS Blueprint Database - Book of Klingon Plans: D7 Class Battle Cruiser

Another place to look are on the Card MOdeling forums. There may be card models of the D-7 that could be used as templates for a styrene based model.

Don't limit yourself to just styrene. As you scratchbuild the detail parts, you may need to use other found items or sculpt parts from t part putty.

Good luck and be sure to post your progress.

Assembling one and building one from scratch are really two different things. This will test your mettle to the extreme. Be prepared to put a lot of effort into it.
