Krennic's blaster almost looks like it could be based off a German MP40.

The grip definitely looks like it is based on an MP40, although not sure that it is an original. There are some interesting switches on the butt of the grip.

I was at SWCE and the new costumes all look great. Reckon the Death & Shore Troopers are going to be super popular. I even like the look of the rebels gear…Jyn, Baze, Chirrut etc

inspired by the MP40...yes
based on a MP40 (either real, deco, airsoft etc.)...definately no.

it is looking like an amalgation of 3D printed and machined parts.

My hunch, based on examining photos of First Order Stormtrooper and Rogue One Stormtrooper costumes is this:

1. The body suits worn under the armor is the same for both costumes.
2. The gloves are the same construction and manufacturer as well - the only difference is the color of the leather/pleather cushioning material (black for Rogue One and white for The Force Awakens).

I expect Disney/LFL had a large contract for the bodysuits and gloves to be made by some chinese company exclusively for the current and forthcoming Star Wars movies. There is probably a warehouse somewhere that is full of these soft goods.

I ordered these last night as well along with the pouches. I went with elk. they are weathered in the reference, so a bit harder to tell which is right. From pics of the havanas that I have seen, have a texture to them. a bit like dimples. The elk are a smoother leather. Honestly, with the amount of weathering on them, it's going to be hard to tell.

I'm starting to think the gloves are very similar to the FOTK gloves but all black.
