realistic water for windows...

was wondering if anyone has ever used realistic water for windows on a ship model (to be lit from the inside) does it work? i want to light up my Galactica, not going to jump right into fiber optics, all in time. looking for a cheap way to give good windows on a ship.

mostly for diorama scenes, just wondering if it would work as a window filler for plastic models to allow for internal lighting.

It might work, but there are products made specifically for filling small windows on models. There is Testors window cement which also works for filling in small windows Testors » Cements & Glues » Cement for Plastic » Clear Parts Cement 1 Oz.. And Microscales Kristal Klear which you can find a discription of near the bottom of this link Microscale Model Finishing Products - Bare-Metal Foil Co.. Both can usually be found at decent hobby stores.
