Welcome everyone! We're working quickly to get more of your accounts activated. A few are having issues, but they're being handled, so expect more soon! Thanks, and again, welcome to the RPF!

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Hi, my name's Tim, and I'm a costume and prop collector

(all: hi, tim)

Been lurking here for a while and figured "Registration opened up, so why not?"

I've been costuming since spring '06.... started with a custom mandalorian with armor plates made from linoleum.

I followed that up with two variations of batman (Dead End and KEaton/Bale hybrid)
I aslo have a predator, a Rebel Legion accepted Jedi, a TDK Joker, and I'm working on Robin. :)

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Hi everyone!
I've actually been a registered member since it last opened up, but I suppose you could call me a "registered lurker" or a "lurking member." I've popped up and posted once or twice, but was fairly ashamed at my lack of participation. Since all the newest members are now posting, I thought I would officially introduce myself.

Actually, I've been the Properties Master at a professional theater this past year, which has kept me busy enough I've not gotten much chance to be on here. I fell in love with this site since the moment I laid eyes on it, as prop making (and costuming too) is quickly becoming my great passion. To tell the truth, I've not had the finances, resources, or time to do things that even compare to what most of the people on here can do, but I keep learning new things and trying stuff all the time.

I actually would say I don't have a particular passion for one or two movies, but rather I've varying degrees of passion about many movies. To name a few I'm interested in props-wise: Star Wars :)love), The Fifth Element, The Mummy, Batman Returns, Indiana Jones, Edward Scissorhands, Firefly, Sleepy Hollow, Resident Evil, 300, Harry Potter, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, LotR, and probably several others I'll remember later when it is too late. :lol

You could say I am at the threshold of what I hope will become a lifelong pursuit in this area. I feel very honored to be amongst you all. Expect to see some threads soon about my meager props. lol Thanks if you have read my long-winded introduction. :)

EDIT: One of my goals is to get fantastic 501st acceptable Mara Jade costume together, and then do a second that's something no one has ever done, like Darth Maladi.

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

hello everyone my name is John and I was a fireman for 7 years and a fire service honor guard member before hanging it up due to a neck and back problem. I still teach a fire safety class to rehab kids that have started fires. I have done this for 2 years and still do.

I know have turned to my second love, fedora's. With a lot of help from a couple of great hatters and a good amount of time. I started my own hat company. the Penman hat co. My specialty is the Indiana Jones style of hats but make others as well.

A friend turned me onto this place saying how great of a time he has with everyone here.

You can see some pics I posted of some of my hats in this thread.

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

My name is Jim.

Most of the stuff I've done in the past has involved non-prop related high voltage devices, but there are a few props that I've had an eye on recreating.

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Hey guy & Gals, my name is Ben and although I'm new here, I'm no stranger to prop making and costuming. I started out with an ESB version Fett and even did a LFL/Spike TV commercial with the suit called "If this guy looks dangerous, he probably is" which still aires on Spike TV. I've owned a Chewbacca costume and now just finished my TD Sand trooper in which I was recently deployed as an MEPD officer. I am currently working on a General Veers costume that should be completed in the next few weeks.

Thanks~

Hi everyone

My name is Nicklas Ingels, Im 35 years old and Im from Sweden. Im a big Blade Runner fan, I've started collecting props and memoribilia from BR since it holds a special place in both my heart and my mind.

I have a BR website (see the signature) that I run and there's a new section I just added with all the BR memoribilia I have in my possesion, feel free to check it out.

I have one first blaster as off now and I'd love to get some BR clothing next but there's mostly smaller stuff from ebay that gets added to the collection. I must say Im very happy finding all the great propmakers out there whom are creating stunning pieces of art for us to get thats otherwise only seen on screen.

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Hello everyone, My name is Fred, I'm 26 and live in indianapolis IN, and Ive been lurking here for quite a while. Im good friends with Stormer and have actually bought quite a few things on here thru him, dating all the way back to the LOTR map adam drew.

Im not anywhere near as rich as most of you appear to be, i have no suits of armor or batmobiles:cry or anything like that. But i do have a small but growing collection of all kinds of things, from audrey 2, to force fx sabers, to some LOTR things.

i most recently made a "duct tape dummy" torso which is now wearing my jason costume on my dining room table, hopefully soon il be able to pake a pair of legs and a pvc skeleton to hold it all up, becuase my girlfriend isnt exactly thrilled with it staying where its at:lol

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

New kid on the block. David 34 years old and from Denmark. Member of the 501st Nordic Garrison. Love SW and in general movie props and costumes - all the great classic movies from the '80 and '90. I have the Stormtrooper, Sandtrooper and Bikerscout and for my kids a Jawa, Clone Rex and Ahsoka in the pipeline and for a friend working on a Juno Eclipse.

Been around the forum for quite some time and it fascinates me every single time - the love for the props, costumes etc. and the level of quality and proff.

Whenever having completed a costume I am in the planning process of the next project. I would like to work on a EII clone, Boba Fett and perhaps a Royal Guard in 2009 and perhaps even a Ewok.. I could also find myself getting a X-wing pilot...

I hope to find some help/inspiration in regards to the Ewok latex parts and the Ahsoka headpiece.

I'm an active member of various 501st boards..

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Hi,

Long time lurker and frustrated at not being able to post when I knew answers to questions asked. Always seemed to miss the window for joining. Anyhoo, I collect Bond props, both real and replica. Sold most of my old stuff in 2006 to take a gamble on the cheap Casino Royale props available (due to Craigs unpopularity before the films release). The gamble paid off and Craig became the best Bond and Casino Royale one of the best Bond films. Regular on AJB's Memorabilia and Collecting forum with a few old timers who are members here too.

Great to be here at last, bring on the dancing girls...
