My take at painting and weathering. First time doing something like this. I think it turned out quite okay
Does anyone have any advice on how to polish/clean this up? Mine has some weird "smudges" that don't seem to go away when I tried wiping it with some alcohol and a microfiber cloth. It's hard to capture on camera but it sort of looks like fingerprint smudges that won't go away.
Mine. too, has a god amount of small, fine scratches / smudges on the dome. Never noticed it under incandescent light indoors, but under full flouresscent lamps in my workshop, they popped out.
Any use Novus polish on theirs yet?

I put the Hytech Toys ones from fleabay in my eFX. Search for:
STORMTROOPER HELMET HOVI TIP SPEAKERS W/ INSTALLATION KIT (SPEAKERS ONLY)
I wasn't able to get their voice changer to work very well but the mic tips are good and work well.
For a first time it looks great! Weathering can be a little tricky at first, but there's all kinds of different methods out there to get the job done. Looks like you might not need to look into any though!
I've currently started working on the interior of my black series helmet. I've always wanted to do that, so this helmet provides a good start.
Looks nice! I'd tone down the black soot weathering a bit. I think it'd look much better.
Very cool! What type of paints did you use if you don't mind me asking?
A good trick for weathering and wash is to never use either pure black or pure white color. Nothing in the real world weathers in black. I always start from a brown or white-isch color .. try it and you will really like the result!
I like your red a lot though! did you use liquid masking to do this? Or salt and water? Or you just simply scratched your paint job?

I am tempted to give it a go,but I'm torn, this is a Rogue one helmet not ANH. So... I'll be putting mesh behind the teeth and weathering it like the poor schlep in the prison transport.Has anyone attempted to replace the vocoder/chin with individual rod pieces like the screen used helmets? That's on my list when I finally get to this bucket.
