Getting ready for the nuclear apocalypse - Geiger counter prop

This is part of a post-apocalyptic costume I am working on. The Geiger counter is loosely based on a real one - the V-700.

The body is made out of plywood, the spiral cord is from a car cellphone charger. The lettering on the front panel was done with transfer letters and the gauge is done similarly to the one in the tutorial I wrote a while back.

The last photo show the color more accurately.

I am not 100% sure about the handle. A friend told me that the duct tape is distracting and that I should use something else. Comments welcome.

Looks really good. I actually had a couple of these that i sadly let go of. Never did get the handheld meter part even in the boxed set i got. The duct tape is kind of distracting. you could probably do a resin on or wood and paint it. maybe even painting the tape black would help.
