hello buddy, spotted your thread just now and would like to give it a helping 'push'. breaks my heart to see a bad cast that's been paid for 'however' half the time, recovering a bad cast is half the fun and you learn a lot along the way.... but you don't want to make a habit of it lol. if the trigger guard falls in so be it. best it happens when its at this stage and not on the final spray stage!! you can repair and re shape using 'milliput' or a similar epoxy baesd putty.

if u need more advice my links are below.

all the best

To quote the website; Milliput is a 2 part, cold setting, non shrinking epoxy putty. It's available at any good model/hobby shop.

thanks - my local shop had never heard of it ......8)

so is mine a stunt copy ? hero copy ? firing copy ? ect ...... i know its a cruddy mold , but figured someone would know whick one it is as it has different patterns to it

From the photo's - your's seems to be a copy of one of the 'stunt' guns cast in solid rubber so the casting isn't perfect , epoxy putty ( milliput - any good hobby craft store) or plumbers 20 min epoxy - ( hardware store ) is your best bet and make a friend of Bondo or P38 car body filler as these are easy to work with and very easy to sand , don't make up too much - use little and often and build up the areas you need to work on good, bad or indifferent, a cast is a cast and unless it's a very bad one , you can resurrect almost any cast with hard work . Some times sanding down an area and re-making the part out of plasticard is better , but only you can make that call.

JB Weld might be a good choice in the USA. Milliput is a UK product which is probably why your local hobby shop hadn't heard of it.

The lower barrel on the "real" Lawgiver was from a Vivitar 8x21 power monocular. There
are similar ones on ebay for little money if you want to "fix" that part of your replica.

suggestions on how you guys have drilled out your barrels ? is there a better way than a spade bit ? i want to replace mine with a metal barrel and mill out the slots .....

work continues - i decided to try and do the drill work by hand with a dewalt drill and some slow/patient work ....took over 2 hours but i dont think it looks too bad .......

if i drill into the hollow spots - visible in the trigger guard area - and use a syringe to shoot resin in that cavity will that make it more solid ?
