Always wanted to remake all the digital assets (buildings) as real life scale models that sit on my desk.
The challenge was that the original game models were originally only made for onscreen use. But with the twist of making them look isometric. As they were only ever going to be seen from one angle.
An interview with the remaster team stated that if looked at other angles, they would look odd as they had to counteract perspective to get the iso look. For me I wanted the actual physical models look good from any angle which was the most time consuming and challenging aspect. Took 40 hours CAD designing to make the Construction Unit. So I had to balance making my physical models looks as close as the digital asset but also look 'normal' from other view points.
