The Vandals seem to be a orange and brown mix, sort of. The first pair of shoes I made, the ones you are going to see in the photos below aren't vandals, but were the closest I could find a while back. I ended up painting them using acrylic paints after removing the protective coating put on the shoes when they were made, using acetate. I used Folk Art: Cinnamon and Americana: Honey Brown.
When I finally do paint my REAL Vandals I'll be using a mix of Apple Barrel brand paints, Pumpkin Orange and Nutmeg. You can find them at Wal-Mart. I've tested the paints and with the right mix it gets a good match. I don't have it formulated, but just go with what looks right when mixed.
On Wednesday I went to the Charlotte Knights game as Doc Brown. A friend of mine went as Marty as well. It was for Back to the Future night.
The following photos were taken by the amazing people that run tothefuture.org , Oliver and Terry! They have been going around the country for 15 years or so raising money for Parkinsons research. In that time they've taken thier Delorean to all 50 states! To date they've collected 229,449.15 in donations! Amazing!! It all goes to Parkinsons research.
Check out their site and donate to the cause if you'd like.
With that said, here are some photos they took of me as Doc Brown at the game with their Delorean and my friend, Cher, as an awesome Marty McFly! I'm not completely satisfied with my make up for Doc, but it was my first attempt at doing old age make up. I think it turned out decent. I plan to improve on it.
Here are the pics!
