ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies Found

Yep, that confirms it.. Han Solo was just a lousy shot! :lol

Great videos, Scott. It's very cool to see a live firing replica.
Hilarious edit too, Han Goes Solo!

Thanks! yeah I'm a little obsessed with it. Ordered new springs, and a new bolt stop, and am going to get some factory load ammo and try again.

I'd like to shoot it safely as much as I can. Why not I guess? It's fun.

The range guys all liked it. "Hey bob... check this out!" the whole time.

...that is Blaster Porn right there!... :):devil:D:wacko:p:$:sick...:sleep..........;)
nice job scott.! will you be accepting visitors and sample demo range tours?

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

I do not realy know yet the orrigin of the Grill/Disk area? But i'm going to reproduce the most accuratly possible this distincve spot. In a manner of history, we know Han Solo was a pilot of the Empire before becoming a smuggler. We know also he hates the Empire and he modified himself his blaster. So, in the context of the SW scenario, it is quite logical to think that Solo voluntarily remove the imperial disc from the Empire blaster! Materially speaking, it does not explain the the spot on the weapon, but historically, I like to think that it is plausible logic.

Ouffffff!!!! I'm new here and I just finished reading in few days non-stop those 112 pages topic. Anyone know a good psychiatrist? My head will explode.

Honestly guys, what a great research!!!

A big thank you for all of You!!!

Another WELL executed MGC conversion...looking great :)

Did you modify the MGC trigger or swapped it for a real one?

Markus

That is an awesome looking replica, all metal is it? That is what I aspire to. I am just starting out and I'm going to build a resin kit to begin with but eventually I would like to gain the knowledge and skill to make something like this. There is no substitute for seperate metal parts, that's for sure. I imagine the weight of it is lovely. Truly amazing piece, good skills my friend

I like the different metal finishes. Are the bull barrel, scope and flash hider all steel, and which methods did you use?

I used a combination of paint and bluing to make the parts look the way I thought they did in reference pics. Some parts are even blued, then painted, then scratched to reveal blue steel under the paint. :) It was tons of fun making this blaster!

Thanks Marcus! I modified the MGC trigger. It was nerve-racking!

Thanks man - yep all metal (apart from the grips). This is a steel kit from DEC's first run built on a MGC Mauser. The walnut grips are from DEC as well.

Great stuff everyone!
