Hey SK - have you considered making an infinity mirror for the nav computer display on the back wall?

Here's a tutorial. I'm pretty sure that's what they did on the original set.

Thought I'd toss a quick update on the button panel's driver board before heading to bed. I've got most of the heavy duty wiring done, all that's left is one more chip and connections to the header pins.

Hi Gang,

I was at the lab early this morning. Jessie was kind enough to come in a wee bit early and help me get some things knocked out! Now it's break time! Enjoy

The morning started with my mounting this little guy - still needs paint and handle pads

Handle pads and other greeblies being laser cut

Need to add the plasti-Dip before mounting it

Check out the new liner Leah made! Excellent workmanship!

Jessie and I then got to work on multiple greeblies. Some we haven't laser cut yet... Those are coming

LOVE IT!

All these new greeblies got a layer of filler & primer

Paint is added

This new greeblie is now mounted and ready for show!

One step closer...

I'm testing something with the radar scope... unfortunately, the laser cutter fan went down last night so I'm not sure when it's going to be fixed...

Hi Gang,

MORE UPDATES!

Jessie has been my hero these few past days... Taking time from her days off she's been helping me blast through all these projects before the Phoenix Festival!

The day stated out with our removing the canopy and prepping for the skin

Then we traced the canopy arch and created a second arch for the back

Found the correct position

Made some accommodations

Looking from Han's side toward the rear

We then bolted the new rear arch and added these horizontal braces...

Added some Velcro

And our first piece of the skin is applied - this is only temp to hide the wood

More beams

More skin

Unfortunately, because of the lower panels, we had to make them flat before creating the actual "curve" of the cockpit

Joe then helped me get started on this little greeblie

Jessie and me cleaning up the edges of the new front window trim

And LOTS and LOTS of greeblies

Somewhere in this pile is a lot of greeblies waiting to be put together

Jessie fab'd, primed and painted this greeblie only before finding out I measured everything wrong... UGH... It was too small...

Jessie also worked on our new name badges

Whew... It's been a LONG couple of days. We're hoping to have the skin finished this morning. Stay Tuned!

Jessie created these faux cassette fronts - they were very prominent in the cockpit

A little Plasti-Dip going on

Back to the skin!

The skin's looking cool already. Love that there's gonna be the front section of the window, even if it's only a temp version.
I also love that in all this there is an actual laser involved. )
