Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

It seems Bill Paxton is channeling his character from True Lies. All I can think of when I watch his scenes.

The events of Winter Soldier are definitely after this episode, not during or before that's for sure. Otherwise agent Sitwell couldn't have been there in the bus.

The show is definitely getting better, but when you see what a real SHIELD tac team can do in the Winter Soldier, Coulson's team and their "night night" guns seem a bit amateurish though.
I saw Winter Soldier last night.
I think they intertwine. The story in both the show and the movie take place over days or longer. At the start of the show when Sitwill is on everybody is one happy Shield. It gets confusing near the end with the whole May saying "Fury is back" and the bus being remotely(?) taken over. I assume that is about the time Fury walks back into the building to unlock the files. I am also guessing the bus gets taken over as part of the helicarrier launch/Hydra power grab. My big problem with that is it seems the characters on the show should have at least heard rumors about Fury being killed instead of not being available.

When the computer was telling them about an algorithm that can predict peoples behaviors I turned to the guy I was seeing the movie with and said, "Like a clairvoyant?" So I assume Agent Hand is going to turn out to be a member of Hydra.

We can theorize as much as we want, but we'll just have to wait until Tuesday to find out.

My cable was having some problems last night. It seemed like EVERYTIME someone was saying something important my picture would tile and freeze for a second or two. Talk about POed!!! Almost scared my dog to death with my infuriated screaming! LOL Hope I didn't miss too many important words.
I believe if you go to the ABC website you can watch it online.

the main ramp isn't the issue. It's the area aft of the ramp. On a real C-17 it opens up into the cargo area to allow for a taller clearance. You see it in the shot above how it's picked up into the cargo area. From then on however, that doesn't happen. It's just the main ramp and in subsequent interior shots, that area - where the door would usually open into - is closed off with a bulkhead and doesn't look like it moves. Then when checked against the "blueprint", it's just the main ramp.. not other portion opens... except in that scene.

I see what you mean, I don't know what to say. It was probably a mistake, they probably used footage of a real C-17 with its ramp down and comped in the extra engines and what not.

After TWS I'm definitely gotten more eager to see the next episode. And that's in spite of my disappointment with this series! Spoiler-tagged below for those who haven't seen TWS yet.

Would be great if Zola is indeed the Clairvoyant and survives the missile strike. Then the AoS team is tasked with hunting down the remaining Hydra agents and this bridges the gap between TWS and AoU when the Avengers take down Baron Strucker. This gives the showrunners an opportunity to introduce Zola in more of a robotic form and maybe even throw in a bigger baddie like Zemo.

Just by being a bigger bridge between TWS and AoU, now THAT would make me more interested in the show.

I think they were just testing the waters with Agents of SHIELD at first, but it looks like they are ready to go all-in since the UPRISING plot began. I think the show only goes up from here.

third3ye,

I was thinking along the same lines! hopefully some of the Marvel people are reading this thread and taking notes - lol

Other great lines Bill Paxton could have used: "Hate to rain on your parade" or "If you haven't been keeping up with current events,,,"
and the most famous one, "Why don't YOU put Her in charge?" Which newly appointed Agent Skye was.

Remembered someone posted that Agent May might be talking to Dr. Strange secretly.
Another character could be and may not be remembered but I believe SHIELD used him, and that would be Doc Samson. Yes, showing my age of comic books.

"Agents" is a great testing grounds for Marvel characters for Movies. Either character or actors protraying them.

Would love to see Marvel do the Secret Wars movie even if it's a trilogy

I am kind of wondering how the H.a.m.m.e.r. falls with Sony having the Spiderman series as well how this new franchise is starting off.

I can't remember, was the location of the mission that "changed" May ever said? Or was the mission itself just a reference?

A little off topic but had to respond to this. The only way a Secret Wars movie would ever happen is if Marvel gets the film rights for Spider-Man, FF and X-Men back. They were an integral part of the comic mini series and to leave them out because of a rights issue wouldn't sit right.

Back on topic, I had to watch Winter Soldier this weekend just because of what's going on in AoS. Confusion may have ensued if I watch the next episode without having seen TWS.

Just coming back from TWS. can't wait to see them tie the show into it. And the events in the show defintely led up to the movie. The way tied Thor 2 in was useless.

Same here. The series has been limping along and I felt it has been riding the coat tails of the movies too much, but tonight's episode could change the course of the show for the better.

Well technically now the show is completely riding on the coat tails of the movies :lol But I do agree that based on the events of TWS, it should make the show more interesting (I hope).

Loeb, Bell & Gregg Navigate the Future of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. | News | Marvel.com.

“The remainder of the season does have one big theme, and that’s who can you trust?” adds Loeb. “And that will have our team members bond in ways that maybe they couldn’t have before, and by the same token hopefully [bring] some surprises in terms of not just our characters but other characters that will be coming onto the show for this last big set.”For Coulson, who has always believed strongly in S.H.I.E.L.D. and its purpose in the world, the revelation of Hydra’s presence in the organization changes everything.

“Coulson does believe there are people like May and certainly--and perhaps ironically--Skye, that he trusts,” concludes Gregg. “So to find out that May has been keeping secrets and has her secret phone has really shaken him. I think if there was anybody he would have bet against [making] that kind of betrayal, it would’ve been her. I don’t know if anything’s sacred. I think everything he believed in is up for grabs. It’s the last step in the erosion of his belief in S.H.I.E.L.D. and Coulson as a company man.”
