Right, I'm back on with these guys!!!!
I wasn't happy with my sub-standard rivets, so I got a thin sheet of styrene (or 12), printed out a new armour panel onto a label, stuck down to the styrene and used a needle to poke the rivets. Then, turned over the styrene and voila!
Also, you'll notice that the fuel tank at the bottom has been opened up. Anything to get it away from looking like a toy really. The bottom armour plates are more reminiscent of the 4 foot model, but I like them... they are staying!
The new necks have worked out fine, and I've now glued them all in place. As you can see, the gun barrels have been replaced with brass rod. I always wonder if they need doing, but once you've finished the result is always much sharper and feels more in scale.
Here's a front view. I've added a couple of thin strips just above the view port. I may add the tiny gun parts above the brass tubing if I get time.
And finally, OCD in full swing... the chin guns. made from brass rod, with the 'plunger' part made from a tiny circle of styrene.
Next I'll be tackling the legs... really getting into this build
Cheers,
Chris
