Pepakura Newbie Questions

Greetings everyone!

I'm new to working with Pepakura and have printed and assembled an Iron Man Mk3 Helmet. I was afraid of ruining it so I also went ahead and built a forearm which didn't take nearly as long and I could easily reassemble in order to test finishing techniques.

So my questions are:

1) After reading about Resin and Bondo and Rondo, it seems that the most common finishing method is two coats of Resin on the outside for stiffness (so the model maintains its shape) and then a coat of Rondo on the inside for strength. So for sizing the pep model, do you typically oversize it to account for the layers? I have mine about as tight as I can get it while still being able to get it on.

2) I read a lot about pouring Rondo on the inside of the model, but could you make a runnier batch and paint it on?

3) Painting techniques - How do you get that sleek metal armor look?

4) Paining - Any recommendations on a color thats close to the red used?

Can anyone share the steps they use?

Thanks!
