Hello! I am new to posting here but have been looking over many forums in the past several weeks as I am building a lightsaber replica of Luke's ANH saber. I have the original Graflex 3-cell, the original bubble strip, and I have some T-tracks coming in the mail.
The build is a surprise for my brother and part of what I know he will love is the research and history behind the parts. I have read on many forums/threads and sites about the graflex flash, that people are saying the t-tracks came from (likely) a cabinet track, that the bubble strip is from the 19 or 20 Exactra calculator. I would love to include references and historical information on how the community has come to find these were the original parts. I have the Star Wars Costumes book as well as The Making of Star Wars: The Definitive Story Behind the Original Film and unfortunately there is not much information about the lightsaber in there. Are there any other reference materials/sites/books that talk about original construction or do we only know about the parts needed because of diligent people like all of you tracking down what each individual part might be? I have found a plethora of comments from you all about the parts and history but I am hoping to be able to reference something more than a forum (not that this forum hasn't been immensely helpful!). Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
