Vote for your favourite movie of 2015. Choose one movie from the above poll to cast your vote.

Movies in the poll are listed in release date order and there are about 60 movies listed as a refresher.

If your choice of movie is not listed in the poll, mention the movie in the comments. You can also list your other (top 10 or 5) favourite movies in the comments.

I saw 45 movies of 2015 and 13 of them were in the theater. My list of movies seen in 2015 is largely incomplete as I have yet to see The Hateful Eight, The Revenant, Bridge of Spies, Spotlight, Creed and several others which I missed out on.

Mad Max: Fury Road is my #1 favourite movie of 2015. The movie exceeded my expectations. The plot is simple and straightforward, but the characters are memorable while the action has set a new benchmark for modern day filmmaking along with its exceptional practical effects and stunts. Also I love the soundtrack by Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL), especially the track Brothers In Arms (Bikers chase sequence at the canyon). The music kinda makes me want to go and exercise. (And I don't really exercise anymore).

My top favourite movies of this year are as follows.

1. Mad Max: Fury Road
2. Inside Out
3. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
4. Ant-Man
5. The Martian

Honorable Mention (release date order): Kingsman: The Secret Service, Ex Machina, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Mistress America, Sicario, Victoria, The Peanuts Movie.

Here is another great mash-up video featuring scenes from 2015 movies by YouTube user Sleepy Skunk.

Lots of great movies this year. I've got to go with Star Wars!

My top 5 (what I've seen so far)

1. Star Wars TFA
2. The Martian
3. Mad max
4. Inside out
5. Ex machina

Mad Max takes the cake for me, as well. It's been an extremely long time since I went to the movies and had an experience as involving as that.

Honorable mention: Room, Revenant, Beasts of No Nation, and Bridge of Spies.

Saw 13 movies in the theater this year:

Kingsman: The Secret Service
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Ant-Man
Fantastic Four
Black Mass
The Martian
The Walk
Crimson Peak
Bridge of Spies
The Last Witch Hunter
In the Heart of the Sea
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
The Hateful Eight

My top 5 are

1. The Hateful Eight
2. Star Wars The Force Awakens
3. The Martian
4. Avengers Age of Ultron
5. Ant-Man

Wow! This was a hard one. I was really torn between The Martian and Star Wars... but Star Wars won out in the end. :)

TFA wins for me. There is no other movie this year I have seen or wanted to see three times in the theater. I went in with lowered expectations and enjoyed the heck out of it. I haven't seen a movie multiple times in the theater in over a decade, and no, it wasn't the prequels. :)
There were other very enjoyable movies, Mad Max was excellent, I was surprised by just how good Creed was, and was just as surprised by how enjoyable Ant Man was.

#1. Spotlight

I didn't really want to see it, but the wife did. So I took her out to see it. It was the best movie I saw this year.

#2 Ant-man
#3 what we do in the shadows.
#4 the hateful 8
JEM and the holograms...jk
#5 Mad Furoisa ( since it wasn't max, but the Furoisa story)

Seriously guys, the Revenant should be at the top of anyone's list. I was torn by these solid sci-di films though. Mad Max was nearly perfect. But Leo just makes it happen along with Tom Hardy.

FANT4STIC!!!

*dodges everything thrown at him, including the kitchen sink*

Seriously, Star Wars: The Force Awakens gets my vote for top movie, hands down. If TFA hadn't come out this year, Ex Machina would have gotten top spot.

Now, I have to split the rest of my favorites into two different categories (and yes, I know that there are movies that can cross over into each category. I just don't care.

Fun popcorn flicks:
Kingsman: The Secret Service
Furious 7
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Mad Max: Fury Road
Tomorrowland
Jurassic World
Terminator Genisys
Ant-Man
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2

Thought-provoking, good movies:
Ex Machina
Everest
Sicario
The Martian
Room
Carol
In the Heart of the Sea
The Revenant

I can't say that TFA is the most innovative, intelligent or artfully crafted of the 2015 films, but it is the one I enjoyed the most and the only one I've felt like seeing multiple times in the theater. TFA managed to take me back to myself in 1977 and conjured those old feelings that helped shape my sci-fi sensibilities to this day. It has to be TFA.

I don't think I can vote as of the all films I've seen....three Avengers,Ant-Man,and Star Wars and of them I enjoyed SW most.

1.)Star Wars TFA gets the top spot for me as well. Like many others, it is the only film I saw multiple times in the theater, and I am patiently awaiting the Bluray release to watch it a few more times.

2.) The Man from UNCLE. I absolutely loved this movie! I'm a sucker for comedies and this one hit all the right notes for me.

3.) The Martian. Self explanatory I think... Just go see the movie!

4.) What We Do In The Shadows. I felt this film got a little bit more hype than it deserved, but it is a very well crafted, excellent, film.

5.) The Suicide Theory. "Technically" a 2014 film, but released in the US in 2015. This one is a weird one. I can't even describe this film accurately. Check it out, I believe it's still on Netflix.

In no rank order -- because I can't really say which I liked more or less, since I liked them for different reasons:

- TFA -- for reasons similar to Bryan. I see a wonderful potential future for the Star Wars franchise. I hope Disney/LFL can make that happen.
- Fury Road -- It was exceptionally well-done. Not a huge fan of the color timing, but that's literally my only complaint with it.
- Kingsmen: The Secret Service. This was just fun and also delightfully subversive.
- Ant-Man. Enjoyed this because it was a lot of fun, and it also showed that Marvel knows how to do a "small" movie (no pun intended). Meaning a movie where the stakes are not THE END OF THE WORLD OR ALL LIFE AS WE KNOW IT.

There's others on the list I want to see, but haven't got round to yet.

Mad Max: Fury Road tops my list followed by TFA, Ex Machina, It Follows, and the incredibly enjoyable and fearless Kingsman which surprised the hell out of me.
