Hey everyone,
Long time reader, first time poster. I noticed the lack of Best costumes on the web, so I'm doing a version of our big blue buddy from First Class. It's a pretty intensive makeup build, but it's proving to be a good time. The final results will probably be a compromise between the movie version and that of the more modern comics. But my materials are as follows:
Prostetic:
Made blue of course. With tons of hair.
Jacket (It was posted above)
Pants: Once I get the jacket in, I'll color match the blue and dye and alter a pair of EMT pants.
I've also done some makeup tests and a first pass at feet:
still needs detail and hair.
I'll do an under armor shell with fur attached for chest arm and neck fur.
This is my first build since film school (way too long ago) and by far the most complex. Any advice would be welcome and appreciated.

NICE FINDS!! The Ebay account one is close, its scarily close.. but also has its inaccuracies. Mainly, the back of the costume which they left yellow. It's mainly blue in the back, there's various shots in the trailers, primarily one of them on the beach that shows some good close up details.

I actually looked that up, its coz he was wearing two different costumes but most of the time he was wearing the yellow one. For those that didnt notice what Megabyte is talking about he means this .. tada ..

I am sooooo super excited to see some First Class costumes-- I wish I could craft one myself but I've got 0 ability. I'm just going to have to find someone else to commission it from! lol

Hey guys! I haven't started my x-men outfit per say, but since I wanna be Mystique, I've starte molding my face to make her scales. Anyways...
to make the uniform, wouldn't we just get the proper fabrics and buy a basic jacket blue-print thing? i think that sounds reasonable.

Hey guys,
I ordered one of the Magneto Jackets from X-Men Just Marvel X-men Store Home mentioned in an earlier post. The jacket itself is of very good quality. The blue portions is essentially a corduroy, so while not completely accurate, it's better than the denim that the ebay suit seems to be made of. The yellow portions are made of either medium quality leather or really good pleather. Again, the texture isn't very accurate, but the overall look of the jacket is pretty good. I can post pics if anyone is interested.
The only gripes I have are that the valves are glued on and made of wood. By the time the jacket got to me, one valve had already fallen off. Nothing a few quick mods can't fix. Anyway, thought a quick review might be helpful for anyone looking to pick one of these suckers up.
