DL44 Printed Parts

Hey All,

Been bit by the DL 44 blaster bug and right now I have a very limited budget. I am piecing together a build and had some questions regarding 3D printed parts.
What is the strength of 3D printed parts? Will they eventually droop or warp ? Specifically the Scope mount? How fragile are they?
thank you in advance.
Regards
Jude

All of these things depend on the strength of the material you use to print with. Something like PLA, which is one of the most common plastics to print with is very resistant to warping. However, a plastic like ABS is very prone to warping while getting printed. In terms of being fragile, depending on the quality of the printer and the filament, they should hold up just fine with display and little to medium use.

Hi,

For the scope mount I highly recommend the mod with screws made by JonnieZG.Han Solo Blaster DL-44 - M4 Screw Mods https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2454910

It is a real improvement in terms of sturdiness.

I don't know about the thread!
I have just used the .stl files from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1915956 made by PortedtoReality and upgraded some parts of it with the files of JonnieZG.
On both webpages, there is plenty of explanation, even a .pdf file, on the way to assemble it.
Owning a real Mauser C96, this 3D printed DL-44 is more accurate than a non-modified DENIX (which I own too)!
