Wandering a bit off topic is fine to fill the time between Bandai posting images for us to pour over or people sharing sprue shots- at least it does keep to Star Wars instead of veering wildly into politics or culinary preferences.
My sideline-
I was on my way back to college and there was a plane crash at our destination airport- we were put up for the night and I found a new book called Sat Wars - soon to be a major motion picture (I still have it- first edition). I read it on the way home and simply could not believe that the scenes described in this book could ever possible be shown on screen.
Fast forward a bit- I was in art school with no car. I painted a T-Shirt for a friend (she wanted Luke in his light saber pose with a parked X-Wing behind him) in exchange for a ride to a nearby city to see the new film. We waited in the lobby while the prior showing was finishing up. The Death Star attack was playing and the ship engines and explosions thundered through the building. It was one of the longest waits in my life, I finally got my butt in a seat and saw it for the very first time.
I was not disappointed.
I had to wait years before getting a copy I could watch at home- VHS was not invented until years later.
The films that followed are all good IMO- each has good and bad points, but the very first movie simply called 'Star Wars' is still my favorite one of all time...
Now back to the Bandai release Thread in Progress.
This was posted by Bandai when they first got the Star Wars kits in production, it shows some of their intended kit subjects:
They had a lot of interesting things being considered- some of these have been released already, I do hope they follow through with all of these eventually.
