Ive never done puff paint before, but I definitely want to try it out. In fear of ruining Samus, though, I would definitely be testing on extra Lycra :O

What color should it even be?
The lines are kind of a silver on the suit fabric.

Puff paint would add that extra touch of attention to detail, and break up the pattern with a nice texture. I wouldn't do straight up silver; I think it'd be too apparent. Subtlety is the key here. Maybe clear (I guess then not puff paint)? Maybe draw on silver lines (unless they're already there - can't quite tell) then put clear gel over the top. Then you still get silver, but it has to go through the clear material first so it's more subtle.

I'm supremely jealous of your Varia suit! I may have access to a 3D printer, but jeebus, I cannot make 3D models for the life of me :O

They have some extremely nice wigs there~ ^u^

Dags you make some of the coolest crap. Do you have any updates on this? Samus is one of the coolest female characters in sci-fi IMO- varia or zero suit... super cool.
