So I don't know who else recalls a show on the Nickelodeon program called "Salute your shorts" or even recalls the character that whom I am referring to, so to backtrack:
Zeke the Plumber was a ghost story told by Budnick, that told about a disfigured camp custodian who was missing his nose, due to a Parrot accident that happened in the Philippines... and one night While Zeke dug a hole hitting a gaspipe, Zeke lights a match and perishes in the explosion... now wearing an "ugly mask", Zeke comes back to haunt Campers in their dreams, thus nicknaming him "The Freddy Krueger of Custodians"....
It was an episode that stuck with me for quite some time and upon reflecting on it, I have seen some (and very little) executions done on the costume, and I have decided to take up on and plan on premiering this costume at DAYS OF THE DEAD, July in Indianapolis...
Here are screen caps of Zeke the Plumber as seen from the episode:
Now here are some pictures so far me in my own variation of Zeke:
Now to touch base on some details, I thought I would share some trivia about the costume:
The Mask: Now it is hard to be exact WHAT the mask Zeke wears in the episode. I actually bought a cheap overhead mask and did some work to it, meaning a new paint job, to get it ever so close to what is seen. I have an alternative "old man" mask, and although its close to looks, and is frightening, its not overhead... Although I could make some alternative changes I still prefer this one better.
The hat: again I couldn't properly Identify what kind of hat Zeke wore. It honestly looked like two hats, one front one back on top each other... I just took the Army cap, just doing so it would fit into his military background.
The Tomahawk: It will be is new primary weapon (NO WORRIES, The Plunger will still have its role), this being a nod to when Budnick was telling his story, Donkeylips jumps in the story and makes mention of Zeke having a Bloody Hatchet... how perfect is that?
The costume still needs some weathering to go otherwise it is all there....
NOW, for Zeke's story... The beauty about this, is that if remembering the episode, nothing in regards to Zeke in that episode will change, ACTUALLY as a matter of fact, that episode is only one chapter in Zeke's story, halfway threw...
The idea of Zeke's story, is that HE DID EXIST. He DID lose his nose, but not by a Parrot in the Philippines (that detail will remain intact), and that many years later, Bobby Budnick caught bits and pieces of a story about a noseless custodian names Zeke, and filled in the gaps and made a ghost story... and that "ZEKE" became a camp ghost story tradition, which only made mockery of him... until HE finds out...
So that is all I am going to be leaving with you all, if any comments or feedback I would greatly enjoy hearing it
